Someone might then accuse the moderator(s) of editing the author's original intent. Which, no matter how innocently helpful the effort might have originally been - as you may recall...is highly frowned upon here.

I like the Marilyn Monroe one too!
"You're waiting for a train, a train that will take you far away. You know you hope where this train will take you, but you can't be sure. But it doesn't matter-because we'll be together." -Inception
“Everyone is a genius. But if you judge a fish on its ability to climb a tree, it will spend it’s whole life believing it is stupid." -Albert Einstein
"Be smart, be intelligent, and be informed. Be smart, but never show it." -Fortune cookie
“Remember when you thought boys had cooties...when friends were new, dreams were un-shattered and worries few...when recess was too short and life was too long...decisions came easily without need to belong...when storks delivered the babies and passions weren't so strong...friendships were un-broken...right was right, and wrong was wrong...when bad things didn't happen...when only skinned knees brought tears and the night light in it's socket quieted all our fears...when farewell meant just for summer and real friends didn't part...the fun went on forever and never left a broken heart.”
Just some of my personal faves.

I collect random quotes, so I'll share a few... "People having sex looks like mountain goats sometimes." "Things tend to work better after a good thumping." Shakespeare once said, " I begeth for thy to holdeth thy peace." My translations, " Shut the hell up." "Adults are just kids with money." "You don't love a woman because she is beautiful, but she is beautiful because you love her." -Anonymous. "Can night take from you the one who loves you? No. Love is eternal. In your eyes is the sorrow of the one who remembers his loss. Love will not leave you. Love does not have a name or page number. Love is unlimited, it is free, pure and brave. In your heart is the island where memories bathe on the shore. Love is an ocean. Can night take from you who you should be? It cannot ... Love is eternal ..." "Love is like a friendship caught on fire.In the beginning a flame, very pretty,Often hot and fierce,But still only light and flickering. As love grows older,Our hearts mature,And our love becomes as coals,Deep-burning and unquenchable." -Bruce Lee Teased and Tormented -My very first story and competition entry is now up!

"I want my son to know that people screw up, that nobody is perfect, that you can learn from your foibles. I want my son to watch "The Natural" someday, hear Roy Hobbs say, "Some mistakes you never stop paying for," and know that it's not just words in a movie. I want my son to know that you haven't lived until you've fought back, that you haven't won until you've lost, that you can't understand what it's like to relish something until you've suffered, too. I want him to understand that it's the 21st century, that we sit around picking our heroes apart all day, that we expect them to be superhuman at all times, that we get pissed off when they aren't, that it's hypocritical if you really think about it." - Bill Simmons ESPN
