If I'm doing it, 2 and 1 unless I am over the top "gotta have it all" then it's whatever I mean however many happen to slide in. If I'm with someone, give me a second and 3 or 4 unless I am over the top, then almost anything goes that will slide in. hmmmm...

Two is my ideal, especially when used properly with the right upward-curving, "beckoning" motion. You can't really do that properly with three or more. "Scissoring" works best with two as well. Three sideways and wiggling about can be fun, though!
