Whoever writes, doesn't beg or sell, and has something to say with any depth is real. The rest, you can ignore.

Well there are 113,187 members...... my guess would be 90,000 people. I think we all have a fake moment. I say that only because most will not post real pics at first. or it takes awhile to get comfortable with being here and opening up to others. Then when they figure out their way around here they open up more and are less likely to fake it. just my humble opinion. edit... I think that came out wrong. I agree it is anonymity and not being fake. I think aloof might be the word I'm thinking of.
sex is like a joke...it's only good if you get it

There's a lot of genuine people here that don't post pictures. Has nothing to do with being "fake". Has to do with privacy.

And there you have a real person. Notice the great comedic timing (was talking about ArtMan, but Dude got in first. Not that Dude doesn't have a good sense of timing as well), and a man's constant point of view (ha ha).
By the way, I am Jimmy Paige, and don't you think otherwise!

If I give it any thought, I am a bit suspicious of the exorbitant number of 18-25 yo bi/lesbian women on Lush. However, I prefer to spend my time here harassing...oops,posting on the forums and/or talking to people who I know are real instead of worrying about the fakes. Like CK said, not revealing everything about yourself doesn't make you a fake. Some of my closest Lush friends have "fake" AV's but are very real people.

I am real, my pictures are real. my responses are real. My avatar is NOT me, but i am curvy brunette and ride a bike so i use it to represent. if anything i try not to be quite so cutting and sarcastic as i am in real life.
Who would have guessed that my little tale, the very First one I ever submitted to Lush would be read by so many? It shocks me a little to realize that it has now served over 20,000! Charge NurseThank you so very much to those who have read it!

Considering how many people try to bluff their way through conversations on subjects they obviously know nothing about, like swinging, nude resorts, BDSM, etc. I'd say the percentage is quite high.

Can anyone on lush be totally real, the illusion of being is part of the draw to lush, otherwise we are stuck in reality. And the escape is what in some part we all long for. None of us are as real as we claim, the question is what is truth, and what is real. And not being overbearing enough to know the truth, and let the other enjoy there illusion!

I'd like to believe that Lush is a place where people discover a part of themselves that they would not have otherwise tapped into. Exposure will create curiosity and if the lure is strong enough, a new skill or idea can grow into perfection. The imperfect journey there is not fake.

I think everyone... We all have a fake moment we fake being nice, we fake being sweet, we fake everything. Our moments of truth are small.

I would have to agree I think everyone fakes something on here, some do more than others though.

I have to agree with Shylass...Does it matter?
"Fake" and "Real" here is a broad spectrum. It boils down to what each individual expects/seeks when they join. Some just want a fantasy. Some want a reality. Maybe some want both.
All I can say is keep seeking and you shall find...
Are you truly awake?

Fake what? Like anyone is going to post a face pic. Wouldn't that just be awesome for your boss at work to see?

Here are some general rules: 1. Assume that all avatars are just pics or representations of the person behind them - not a real photo of the actual person, unless otherwise stated. 2. If someone has naked photos in an open public-gallery on their profile - take it with a grain of salt. How many people do you know outside "the adult industry" that would be cool with posting tons of explicit pics of themselves online for anyone to access. Double the skepticism if the photos show their face. Triple the skepticism if they have nude photos posted of their supposed best friends, family members, boyfriends/girlfriends, and teachers... because... let's face it - who the fuck would do that? 3. Yes, there is a skewed demographic with an endless array of 19 yr old bisexual/lesbians that look like professional models on this site that are always extreme level-10 horny. If you *are* actually a 19 yr old lesbian looking for a girl to chat with - damn, I feel bad for you - you will have to wade through a lot of fakes. 4. If a person has spent a lot of time on their profile, has earned a lot of badges in the way of voting/commenting stories or actually writing their own stories, you can probably put a little more trust in them - they have invested time into the site and aren't just here for cyber kicks and trolling for friends. 5. Read between the lines when you see a profile. Does this sound like a real person, or more like a stereotyped two-dimensional sex-bot who proclaims themselves a nympho fuckslut with unrealistic (daily) sexual adventures. Most real women will not want to present themselves this way, even if they are super kinky - and they will probably have some standards, even on the internet. *** Don't get too bent out of shape about who is real and fake. Develop some basic "internet smarts" and talk to people based on how much you enjoy the convo. If it isn't your style, then move along to the next person. Chances are, this site is going to be the extent of your interactions with them, so as long as you're entertained here, then it's all good.

I think the entire US House of Representatives are Lush members claiming to be 18-21 year old lesbians. Lush members have careers to protect, family members & children that they do not want knowing and such. Disguising one's identity just makes common sense. I certainly do not expect someone to post actual names & face pictures unless you are a pornstar. PS. I think that WellMadeMale is really David H. Petraeus, Director of the CIA. See the similarities:

Excellent topic! When I first became a member here, I would have said 50% of the people here were fake. Two years later, I dare say 90% to 95% are fake. Now, that is not necessarily a condemnation of the fakers! There are a few fakers, with large galleries of professional porn photos and well written profiles of their sexual escapades -- that are SO FUCKING entertaining, that I do enjoy the occasional cyber-chat with them. LOL.
But by and large, the folks I enjoy chatting the MOST are those with normal lives, kinky fantasies, and (optional) a few juicy experiences they enjoy sharing. I myself fit that last description. However, on occasions, when my chat partner is very horny and WANTS to hear me relate some fabulously DIRTY personal experience, I have been know to make up some stuff for their entertainment. Because they are real friends and I enjoy getting them off.
Which leads me once again to espouse the First Law of Lush: Everybody lies about sex -- especially over the Internet. :D
You've been a bad girl! Now take your pajamas off and go to my room!

Fake can be construed so many ways. Hidden identities are not necessarily fake as much as they are prudent. Get to know and friend other members and discover that they are very real and interesting people with very real opinions and feelings.
