It's a given just about that it's on everyone's top list LOL
Exactly.
Plus, it's the one song everyone knows. It's the answer people who know nothing about LZ will always give if you ask them. So I guess removing it as an option makes me elitist in some way, huh? :/
I love every song LZ made, but whenever I hear someone say Stairway is their fave song, it takes me back to those days when I hung around musicians and pseudo-musicians all the time. Guys who cannot play guitar always find a way to play Stairway, don't they? lol It's the wannabe musicians pick up line (in my experience, anyhow, but maybe I just meet all the losers lol).

For the record, i like other songs better, but it is a good song. 'Thank you' is probably my favorite, although that's because i was introduced to them, and that particular song, thru Tori Amos. I love their original version too. And The Battle for Evermoor. :) Bitches in the Basement on Amazon by our own Dancing Doll

One? How about one from each album?
I: Dazed and Confused II: The Lemon Song III: Friends IV: Battle of Evermore V: No Quarter VI: Ten Years Gone VII: Achilles Last Stand VIII: In The Evening IX: Poor Tom
And I could do an honorable mention for Hey Hey What Can I Do (B-side of the Immigration Song 45) and Traveling Riverside Blues.

This is one of the most worthy forum posts ever. As for me, I'd have to say "Since I've Been Loving You" or "We're Gonna Groove" are one of my favorites.

Was never really a huge Stairway fan btw, and there are a few LZ songs I find rather impressive, but if I had to pick one it would be "Achilles Last Stand" if only so I can have an excuse to post this vid...

I have the Led Zeppelin DVD and hardly ever watch the Knebworth stuff. They seemed tired and stuffy compared to their earlier stuff. The Albert Hall footage is great!
