Oh, I don't blame media for it all, it is up to parents and individuals to choose what they allow or don't allow and how they react or don't react.
BUT it is absolutely a factor that people do not have a foundation of self-love and self-esteem to make it through whatever they have to make it through. And I absolutely do not condone or approve of a victim mentality - I promote and teach the opposite... self-love. People with positive self-esteem and love have less victim mentality, less blaming of others for their problems, less negativity, less hatred toward others, less bullying toward others, etc BECAUSE they have a foundation and belief in themselves.
My point is that our media and society encourage negative behavior, lowers self-esteem, allows a blaming victim mentality (think of how popular jerry spring and maury pouvich shows are) and is a MAJOR factor in bullying behavior, crime, negligence, disrespect, etc.
but agreed, it's not the only factor.
and no, I don't own a TV and yes, I love myself and NEVER am bothered by what others say to me :-) It's always their issue, not mine... and I love them anyway.
