I just wanted to say thank you so, so much to people who have responded and posted here or sent me messages. I love you guys. I know my original post will never have an answer that can make it better, or something we can change about the wider world alone, but it's nice to know I'm not the only who thinks that some people are just complete knobheads.

Yes, women are far worse, and evil little bitches with the things they can say and do, in my experience. They made my childhood a complete misery (the boys were totally accepting of me when it became clear that I packed a hard punch, and was quite a nice person really), and I think most of how I feel, aside from certain events of my life, stems from all of that. But as an adult, it is grown men who say things to my face and that I hear. Women don't (currently) do it where I can hear them, which helps. I hate going places and seeing/meeting people because of what they will think about me, and I especially hate even my friends talking about me if I'm not there. But like I said, I think that stems from the experiences I had at school every day. The best thing I ever did was leave.

I'm trying to find a way forward in my life, and Lush has become a massive part of that. Nobody can see me here, and we are forced to judge others on what we see them write. I'm not perfect, because I need room for improvement, and I'd hate to make everybody feel inferior if I was perfect.

I am having problems replying to PMs people sent to me, as I feel very raw and I trying to squash down things I would rather not have to remember or think about. But I do appreciate it very much, and if I don't reply, please know I am very grateful to you for taking the time and effort.

Need to go and source me some pepper spray now...

Daisy, as most others have said, in the short time you have been here, you have made your presence known and have become quite popular. I am honored to be amongst your friends. You are smart and a beautiful person where it really counts, in your heart. As for those stupid fucks who make nasty comments, here is my suggestion. Learn how to sign something really nasty. then next time it happens, pretend like you are deaf and sign Fuck You or what ever phrase you have chosen. It will spoil all there fun if they think you did not here what they said, and maybe you will get just a little satisfaction from telling them off. And if you ever get to Chicago, I expect you to stop by and visit me!!

Why do they do it? Simply because some people need to feel good about themselves by denigrating others, probably because someone has often done that to them. The praise of such people should mean nothing to you, so why should their scorn?
