That was a fine and decently operating service until Microsoft purchased and began to manage it.

Interesting, I thought MS came up with hotmail.

I have a really old account with them, almost never use it anymore. Hotmail used to give me (and my entire address book) the clap regularly, and I don't like the clap...

Hotmail sucks! Some days I cannot retrieve my email messages at all. Other days it has a completely different look, only to be back to its regular look the next day. It may be time to change.

Which email services are much better?

I like gmail. Never had an issue where I couldn't get online or my messages. Lots of space, and easy layout. The instant messaging isn't that great.

I do have yahoo accounts .... for instant messaging and my football pools (plural yes!) The Chat is awesome!

a story that is lots of fun .... Ben's fun!!

The nail in the hotmail coffin for me, was when pretty much everyone I know who has a hotmail account, caught some nasties, and everyone who was in their address books, were also sent some nasties.

I've never had an issue with gmail.

If you want tons of daily spam, head to Yahoo. Their filters are next to useless:

That was my complaint with MSN/Hotmail in 1998. I had a coupla HoTMail accounts in '96 - '97. Microsoft took 'em over and promptly turned the service into crap.

I've used Yahoo since 2000 and have grown used to the spam and the constantly changing filters. I can't bring myself to use the email service from the company determined to rule the cyber world.

They've got a great search engine, but they are da debbil ... they want to link too many of their apps together for my tastes. I don't wish to be all freaking twitterfied/Linked-In/Facebooked all over the place. Anonymity is worth staying away from all that crap.

So is a little spam, besides...one day I might want to roll the dice on some of those skank fuckbook escorts and score some cheap herbal viagra with a twofer coupon.

I've never had an issue with yahoo. I might get one spam email a week, if I'm lucky, past the filters.
And I can siphon's all my mother's useless joke emails into a separate folder so I can "Select All" and "DELETE".
The only thing I hate about it is all the advertising crap all over the damn thing. But I guess that's par for the course.

Is it odd that I don't get alot o spam on yahoo? I lost my account once messing up the login and had to delete some things I didn't say on Facebook, but even then I only get one weird email everyother week, and they all go in spam. filters work fine for me to :/

That screenshot of mine shows less than a day's junk. I guess I must have got on the wrong spam list somehow.

My yahoo got spammed that much i had to close it, any thing up to 2000 spam mails aday. Hotmail has been a pain to at times, but mostly all go to junk, even some of my lush alerts were, but after sending them back to my inbox a few times they stopped going to junk. never see any one on hotmail these days, used to have atleast 4-6 friends on any time i signed in, but now hardly any, ive even checked with some on lush to see if they are online. Now if you click on any of your friends avatars for there profiles, your redirected to outlook and, no profile info.
So come on Nicola and Gav bring it on, learn from the mistakes of the others and give us some thing user friendly.

I use Yahoo, hotmail and gmail, it would be good if the best parts of each could be combined and there were no ads. That's the part that annoys me the most, especially on gmail.

They are going nuts over-creating features, (your friends are not doing anything, LOL) of course for the sake of getting new users.
Unfortunately many features that we have to accept or tricking into accepting them are at times in the way of a smooth usage.

I like and use gmail but I have accepted the extra safety for signing in and now every time I change computer or on my cell I have to get a security code before I sign in.

Than there's the Important mail box that I do not get on my cell. So I get new mail, but it doesn't show, or I'll have to tweak it.

The simpler always works better.

I also use Mail.com and fastmail.fm which is a serious and powerful email system

Has anyone tried to bundle up all of your email address into one? Most support it. I would like to know your verdict.

Hum Lushmail.com Yum Yum. Arghhh do we need another email account? (joke) Yes, we do! Yes we do!
Please almighty lady from down-under do not cancel my account. Kisses
