Tom's Notebook, or The Misadventures of an Unrepentant Souse, soon to be a major motion picture - well, a minor still-life drawing - penned by the trembling hand that conjured up such overtures to love-that-dare-not-stick-its-finger-down-its-throat, (for fear of what unspeakable horrors, from what unnamable levels of fresh hell, might conceivably become uncovered, and unwittingly dredged up), as The Extrapolated Scarlet Garment, Columbine in Fifth Street Traffic, and that Elmer Fudd inspired classic, Dwive, ("My wuv is wike a wed, wed, wose...") (pause for intermission, cigarettes, and the chance to catch one's breath), - is now perched like a flasher with a major grin pinned to his face, and a minor in French literature, upon Oberon's invitingly admission-fee-suspended, pimped and tarted profile page, for your perusal, and - although it's highly doubtful - your enjoyment.

I'm SO excited!! I'm going to see RHPS tomorrow night in Edinburgh! I've loved it for what seems like forever, but this will be my first time seeing it live! (as an aside, I want to get all dressed up, but none of my friends are up for that, so I guess I'll be trying for classy and sassy instead hahaha) Tim Curry has the best smile ever!! (oh except when he is Pennywise... shudders)

If you haven't, you should read this award-winning story. Fine, fine, I only won a potato, but I'm sure you won't be able to peel your eyes away from it.

We're only young and naive still We require certain skills The mood it changes like the wind Hard to control when it begins The bittersweet between my teeth Trying to find the in-betweens Fall back in love eventually Yeah yeah yeah yeah Can't help myself but count the flaws Claw my way out through these walls One temporary escape Feel it start to permeate We lie beneath the stars at night Our hands gripping each other tight You keep my secrets hope to die Promises, swear them to the sky The bittersweet between my teeth Trying to find the in-betweens Fall back in love eventually Yeah yeah yeah yeah As it withers Brittle it shakes Can you whisper As it crumbles and breaks As you shiver Count up all your mistakes Pair of forgivers Let go before it's too late Can you whisper Can you whisper Can you whisper Can you whisper The bittersweet between my teeth Trying to find the in-betweens Fall back in love eventually Yeah yeah yeah yeah The bittersweet between my teeth Trying to find the in-betweens Fall back in love eventually Yeah yeah yeah yeah

("I know it's true..." "I'm afraid it's just a fairytale" "No it's not I promise" "Wouldn't it be good if it was true?") Im stuck for words Clocks ticking in my head With dirty feet I walk these streets To keep two steps ahead Breathin, in To taste the clouds Let me slip away And fade into the crowd I want to evaporate And be embraced by air I want to be water And flow without a care I can feel it, someones coming I can feel the weight of their eyes Whispering, so softly as they sing (oh...)

Did they tell you You should grow up When you wanted To dream Did they warn you Better shape up If you want to succeed I don't know about you Who are they talking to They're not talking to me I'm higher than high Lower than deep I'm doing it wrong Singing along Did I ask you For attention When affection Is what I need Thinking sorrow was perfection I would wallow Till you told me There's no glitter in the gutter There's no twilight galaxy I'm higher than high Lower than deep I'm doing it wrong Singing along Go higher than high Go lower than deep Keep doing it wrong Keep singing along I'm alright now Come on baby I've seen all The demons That you've got You're not alright now Come on baby I'll pick you up And take you Anywhere you want Anything you want

I think that these are some of the most beautiful lyrics ever written - The way Mike Scott sings them, such longing, such emotion... sighI wish I was a fisherman Tumblin' on the seas Far away from dry land And its bitter memories Casting out my sweet line With abandonment and love No ceiling bearin' down on me 'Cept the starry sky above With light in my head You in my arms Woohoo! I wish I was the brakeman On a hurtlin' fevered train Crashing a-headlong into the heartland Like a cannon in the rain With the beating of the sleepers And the burnin' of the coal Counting the towns flashing by In a night that's full of soul With light in my head You in my arms Woohoo! Well I know I will be loosened From bonds that hold me fast That the chains all hung around me Will fall away at last And on that fine and fateful day I will take me in my hands I will ride on the train I will be the fisherman With light in my head You in my arms Woohoo! Woohoo! Light in my head You in my arms Light in my head You in my arms Light in my head You in my arms Light in my head You in my arms Woohoo! Woohoo! Happy St Patrick's day guys!
