Darn it, Garza! I value your opinion on music and you go and throw in Kings of Lean and Death Cab on your list. They've made some good stuff. C'mon! What's going on? Greenday? Coldplay? Prince? Guns N' Roses? Bob Dylan?

Well first off, we need to eliminate all Boy Bands and 99% of Rap artists because to be a real band you should play musical intruments. Otherwise they would pretty much all make my list.

The voice is a musical instrument. But being a vocalist alone doesn't make a person a "band". Opera singers are great vocalist/musicians, but they aren't in a band. Hip Hop artists can be considered musicians and/or artists. Boy Bands are no different than Barbershop Quartets. Singing, no intruments = not a band. Eninem.. great rapper/hip hop musician/artist. Not a band Michael Jackson.. Not a band Springsteen... Band Mick Jagger as solo artist... Vocalist, not a band Mick Jagger as lead singer of The Rolling Stone... band When the debate is lost, slander becomes the tool of the loser. Socrates

Stop that Sprite. You're always throwing me under the bus. I can't describe how much I don't like Bobby Boy. It seemed like a whole generation worshiped him and I always thought he sucked. Although LM is right but, don't tell him I told you so. It might go to his head.

I actually like Bob Dylan, but I agree he's not a band. Neither is Elton John. When the debate is lost, slander becomes the tool of the loser. Socrates

Being a good singer, that's a whole other issue. Also can't sing... Madonna, Kurt Cobain. Add in Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber, and any number of other AutoTune "vocalist" and you'll have a who's who of current "musicians". When the debate is lost, slander becomes the tool of the loser. Socrates

Worst band in history? Too many to mention. Of the current crop I absolutely despise Lawson and live in the firm belief that if One Direction's "Little Things" isn't about the size of their penises, then it should be.
No contest for most overrated band in history though: Pink Floyd without Syd Barrett.

I realize that this thread isn't really that serious, but still...how can a group of musicians who are functional on instruments really be considered objectively worse than a group that isn't? For instance, I'm not into Coldplay, or Pink Floyd, or Rush, but despite the fact that I don't care for their style of music, it's pretty damn obvious that they're not awful musicians. Depending on which members of those bands you're talking about, some of them are really quite good and well respected on their instruments. They may not be cutting-edge, or innovative, but they're good enough to record the multi-platinum selling music on their own, without stand-in musicians. That's more than a hell of a lot of 'bands' can say. You may not like to watch golf, but that doesn't mean Rory McIlroy sucks at it.

I took "worst" band as the band(s) I most disliked musically. There are some bands that suck musically, they're hacks. And no matter what, Taylor Swift still can't carry a tune in a bucket. When the debate is lost, slander becomes the tool of the loser. Socrates

Ok, that makes sense, but then, shouldn't the thread be called "Band you dislike the most?" That seems fundamentally different from "Worst Band in History", no?

The bands I chose are bands I just think suck musically. There are many bands I dont like but i think are very talented musicians and/or song writers. Someone mentioned Prince. I dont like his music but he is actually a very talented guitarist which never seems to be mentioned. Bob Dylan's voice is awful but he is an amazing songwriter. Same goes for many others..
As for Rap/hip-hop, you may love it which is cool. But you cant say that the rap artists are great musicians or even musicians for the most part. Of course there exceptions.
And as far as bands like Led Zeppelin, if you say you dont like them i can respect that but to say they are not a talented band is rediculous.
And for the guy who said Pink Floyd sucked without Syd Barrett, why do you say that? He was very talented but also very one-dimensional. When he had his meltdown and left the band, Roger Waters' Lyrics and David Gilmour's guitar playing took them to a whole different level they never would have achieved with Syd, especially once the Psychedelic era ended.
BTW, LM, Kurt Cobain is a fucking GOD!!! HAHA
But this is JMO, except for Kurt and Floyd, LOL
