Hi, I'm new here and love the stories I've read so far. My question is about saving a story to my computer. I like to edit well written stories to make them more personal, then share them with my wife. It generally entails changing names and dialog to suit our particular kinks better. I would never release an altered story to the public, never.

Is there a way to save stories to my computer for this purpose?

Thanks to all the story writers out there, I love erotica!

While there are ways, I believe that the authors would be taken aback by this, I know I would be

Authors will not like that at all. Many of us have our stories copyrighted. Any reproduction without our express written permission is legally considered theft. It would also break the rules of this site and end up in your membership termination. Don't do it!

Yeah I really don't like this. I can't stop others from saying yes but I will be saying no.

Have you tried writing your own? That's the best way to tailor it to you and your wife's particular kinks.

Hello Tenon, welcome to Lush.

I will go so far as to say that this will NEVER be available on Lush for the very reasons you've stated. Sure your intent may be harmless, but plagiarism is quite rampant in the online writing community as a whole. Lush goes to great lengths to protect the work of authors, and even still some of the works fall prey to plagiarizers. If someone can simply save stories to their desktop and do with them what they please, all of that work will be for naught as plagiarizers would have the ultimate field day.

As I said, you may not have ill intent...but I don't know many authors who would appreciate their hard work being tampered with to satisfy a whim. Also, what's to stop someone from editing people's stories to their liking and claiming them as their own?

Allowing people to save others' stories to their computers would be highly unethical.

thank you. as an author who has, at various times, had to put more time and effort into having stories that i've written removed from websites where they've been credited to someone else then i did actually writing them, i want it to be as difficult as possible to copy anything published here - yes, i sincerely believe your intentions are innocent, but if we make it easy for you to do, it's easy for those with less sincere intentions. my suggestion would be to simply read them out loud to her - you could easily substitute your names while doing so, if you wished. smile

You can’t truly call yourself peaceful unless you are capable of violence. If you’re not capable of violence, you’re not peaceful. You’re harmless.

I'm glad to see that you won't be doing this. I don't like when I find out people are 'keeping' my stories. Even if they aren't doing it to steal or use elsewhere, it's just weird to me. They are mine. Just read them from off the site. ^-^

Yeah, if you got permission from the author first, it would be different...

Btw, I had somebody do something similar once...a reader took my first story, and put herself in it...and made a few minor changes, and sent it back to me...I thought it was kinda flattering actually...but, better to get permission before attempting something along those lines...

Like others pointed out...there is so much plagiarism and bad intent these days, some authors may be taken aback by your actions...no matter how innocent your intent...

You know you want it, you know you need it bad...get it now on Amazon.com...

Of course, there are a lot of quality audio stories already available to listen to - you can download them and listen as often as you wish!!

You could also ask your favourite writers if they would consider writing a story and using your names? Some writers will take requests (not me hahahah but some will)

Perhaps you could approach the authors of stories you like and ask them to do you a quick version with your names in? They might be flattered enough to take you up on the offer?

Thanks for all the responses. Authors seem unanimous in their reaction to my request. I understand.

I've been known to take requests. Send me a plot line & any info you want written in (names & kinks, stuff like that) and I'll write it up after I'm done with this series.

Edit: feel free to read my other works before taking me up on this offer. smile

It's an unsurprising reaction from authors here but all you're really doing is no different to a DJ re-mixing other people's songs. Sadly a lot of authors here have seen their work ripped off and are understandably wary of anything that would make that job easier.

Even up to a couple of years ago there was an "Embellish" feature on Lush to do exactly the kind of thing you would want to: readers could add and change aspects of stories but I think this has been deactivated now.

Of course, there are work-arounds to reactivate Ctrl+C and other export options but I'm not going to be the one to tell you how to do it.

Why not read some stories instead
