Question.
I feel like interactive erotica is the cat's pajamas. I kind of stumbled on it completely by accident, just one story (not even the whole story), but it made a big impression on me, maybe because i started thinking about the possibilities for the medium. It takes my erotica experience to the next level. Blows my mind.
There's stuff out there. Visual novels, stuff like that. But not very much, and not very much that's very good. (That I've come across.) Very little geared toward women. And I'm not asking for full romantic girly erotica, just stuff that's not full-on misogyny. (like most VNs)
So I'm asking two things: can anybody recommend me anything in this genre, and am I the only one that feels this way? I figure if a lot of people liked this stuff there'd be more of it out there. Because when it comes to reading erotica, and reading erotica where I get to be involved (even if it's just a little), I'm finding it hard to go back.
Shows you how out of touch I am. I've never even heard of interactive erotica (or maybe I have and just don't know it by that name). What is it?
I don't know anything about any such "sites" but the problem I've run into HERE is that while ALL of my friends t've written stories for have enjoyed them, when I ask THEM TOO "interact" it's like pulling teeth! They think that I'm EXPECTING some fantastically written story from them, when all I'm asking for is FEED BACK and input so that I can take it in a direction they're going to thoroughly enjoy! "Interactive" IS possible HERE! .BUT, it REQUIRES that you DO "interact"!
What I'm talking about is a one-person thing. The story's already written, it just occasionally gives you choices to make, and making different choices takes the story in different directions.
What is interactive erotica??
I've been mulling over doing one of these set in the fantasy world of my Darkniciad stories.
If I go forward with it, I'll probably post it on my own website with a point-n-click interface to eliminate the need for "1) Choice A - Go to section XXX". Much easier to click a link and jump to that part of the story.
Gives me the opportunity to save all the choices and generate a complete story at the end as well. All sorts of things I could do with that on my own space that I couldn't do anywhere else.
It's a lot of reading and proofing, though. That's what's held me back. I'm thinking of something pretty ambitious where there are multiple potential partners ( or more than one ).
That's pretty much how TFC's are, but I'm convincing them to keep them shorter and less ambitious. When I want to read erotica, I usually want a story or a chapter, not a novel. That's the difference between some interactive erotica/choose your own adventure porn and a full on game.
