If you post in the forums, and the thread doesn't take the direction you'd hoped, that's too bad. Learn from the experience.
I have advised our moderating team, that unless there's an incredibly good reason for a thread to be deleted, it stays.
Why? If you ask a question or post something in the forums you want answering, people in our community will take it at face value, and try to answer as best as they can. They spend a lot of time thinking about and typing out their responses.
It's unfair on our community, to simply remove threads at the whim / request of the OP. Our policy represents that.
