I’m escaping from work this morning to watch World War Z (one of the benefits of working from home) with the missus, then she has planned a surprise dinner at our favourite Mexican restaurant.

What do the remaining 99% of users do? You can get some serious RSI using the mouse wheel on some of our profile pages.

I would like it if the "Add a Comment" section of Friends Comments was at the top of the page instead of at the end of it. Sometimes it gets annoying waiting to scroll through all the pics to get to end to add a comment

I think it should be close to the comments, doesnt make sense having it at the top all by its own, no?

If I was to ever post on someones profile, I would press CTRL END to get to the bottom of the page then bam.

This is on my todo list. One of the things causing the site responsiveness to dip was the generation of friends birthdays. I'm going back to the drawing board on this one.

There was a period of slowness as I brought a new slave online.

Does "last visit" on someone's profile e.g. "date (3 hours ago)" mean that is when they signed in or signed out?

The Last Visit on someones profile is the time of their last session creation, so last login or the time they first hit the site (being already logged on). We do not record logout times.

As far as I know black boxes _should_ work fine on iOS 6. Private chat has an issue as Apple stopped allowing multiple connections to the same domain. So when you open up a new chat window it _locks_

Casper is kindly helping us out trying to diagnose a problem whereby when you login with stealth (shift) after a while of browsing you are exposed.

We shall be retiring him once he has outlived his use.

Update
You may have noticed a *slow down* or unresponsiveness during the early morning (3:10am PST to be precise). This is due to a backup of the database occurring. We need to take these snapshots in order for us to be able to perform recovery if it was ever required. Until we have enough money for second database server that would act as a slave, we are stuck with this situation.

The two outages we have had recently were due to how the pooled connections recover after the above backup. Under certain situations, a connection was pooled (for re-use) that had received a socket error from the database server. This never recovered and was being served to handle all your requests.

But why was I able to still send PM's?
We have a separate pool of connections for the /membership area. This pool was unaffected by these socket errors.

I'm not paying for Gold if the service is unreliable
The fact is, the more funds we have available, we can create a better and more reliable experience for everyone. If we could fund a second database server, we could scale the database across two machines in a master/slave configuration. We could backup the slave without affecting the performance of the other server or the website.

With an additional web server, we could ensure load was spread across two machines. If one went down then traffic would be directed to the healthy one.

That would have been my guess, too. I was just interested as I thought it was quite clever, however he's doing it.

Sorry folks, we are still having database issues. There is a memory leak which requires a restart every so often.

your browser is caching the old stylesheet, need to clear your cache or shift F5 for a reload.

I've found the Gold, crisis averted

I have rather enjoyed the anonymous stalking capabilities which Lush has afforded me for the last 3 plus years.

It wouldn't bother me though if people noticed that I had, on occasion, browsed their profiles. I'm easy to please, so however you wanna doll things up around here Gav, I am game - because I welcome change/progress/doing stuff just to see it done.

I used to watch with amazed admiration as middle managers would get hired and come into functional departments and then rearrange the seating of their 50 plus employees around the gopher farm - just so they could say they actually accomplished something monumental inside the first ninety days of their promotion. I suspect simply to justify their own brilliant worth to the corporatocracy.

On another note, I do have my own reoccurring request for the scratch n sniff webpages - and it appears that Google is rolling out their own invention . Perhaps you can grab some of that code from those guys & implement here sometime in the next two or three years?

I see a reoccurring request for people to be able to see what members have viewed there profile. I'm working on a new dashboard for when you login, wonder if it’s worth reporting this information.

What are people’s thoughts or concerns? Personally I don’t care who sees I've been to their profile page. If I'm on your page it’s usually not a good thing :)

Of course if you have blocked the member then you will not be recorded. Also we will not record multiple times within a timeframe.

I have just applied some fixes that shall hopefully mitigate the infamous 2:00am Lush crash.

I’ve added some parallelism to the spell checking process, let me know if its any better.
