Topic Birth Control.. what do I do???
Posted 06 Jan 2013 07:16

Not getting it will lead to pregnancy. Pregnancy leads to other complications including A LOT less sex when there is a child! Seems like a good enough reason to start hunting either a free or low cost clinic, a new doctor or google the closest planned parenthood. It might be closer then you think, I know that was the case for me!

I have other criteria for the men in my life. BUT it is much easier to enjoy life if you are not worried about the money. I make decent money myself, so it is even more important to me that they make enough that I don't feel obligated to pay for everything!

1.) I wanted to write a shower story and I wanted to push the limits of what I feel is dirty
2) I imagined a girl, just learning to enjoy herself and the freedom of an empty house.
3) I've never tried an incest story before!
4) This story, because of its very nature, felt very very dirty to me. Embarassingly so. In fact I almost didn't publish it as a result.
5) I had a hard time getting this to paper because I wanted to explore the incest angle, but to me the daddy/daughter relationship is sacred. Im a true grown up daddy's girl. I could never imagine my own father in this light so it was difficult to imagine it.

We got another dusting of snow, thanks to the lake effect. A storm system is supposed to come my way. I still have some eggnog left over and a lot of chocolate cake.

My family wanted me to come home for the holidays to the lake house...I am sooo glad to have to be here at work in Fl, and thus have a legit excuse to avoid being snowed in with all the relatives!

Topic No longer sexy..

Fugly

My bf and I don't have as much sex as I'd like. And I feel like he doesn't find me as attractive as he used to. Any time we have sex I have to BEG for a VERY long time...or come on to him super hard. I don't mind coming on to him..but all the time????? I've asked him about it many times and he said he still finds me attractive and nothing is wrong with me. But of course I think it is me..and I've tried a lot of things...I've tried looking 'glamourous' looking 'natural' & many other things. I want him to actually be turned on by me..w/o me having to come on to him or jump thru 100 hoops.

I mean my confidence has gone down A LOT. Not just from the lack of sex. There are many other factors that go into my lack of confidence...but the lack of sex just adds on to it. Embarassed

I'd be willing to take any suggestion!!

I can understand this. I've been here myself. He's probably telling you the truth, it's not you. He might have problems. Try having him checked out at the doctor. He might have some problems going on. Is her over tired, working to hard? Unhappy with himself? All of this can affect his sex drive. If this doesn't change then it comes down to your options.

Your options are pretty simple and yet oh so complicated.
A) you can leave. This sometimes is much more complicated or harder then it sounds. Its easy for those outside your relationship to say "leave," but only you can decide.

B)You can stay. This leaves you with a couple more options.
1) You can decide to cheat and get your fulfillment elsewhere. more complications, in obvious and not so obvious ways.
2) you can be faithful. Know that he is not likely to change and you are consigning your self to a sexless existence.

Only you can make the choices for your unique situations.

LOL good point. And really, if you think about it, America became a country by seceding from another country. All they wanted was the chance to peacefully walk away from England, but England wasn't having it. Ironic and hypocritical then, that we now won't allow states to do the same for themselves.

And this.

Mark this down. I completely agree with Lady X on something political :)

It's just a bunch of tea-party types and evangelicals grimacing over their sour grapes, best I can tell. And this is not to minimize the very real concerns that some people have about the curbing of 1st Amendment rights over the past two administrations, or the real concern over the long-term effects of Obamacare, but for anyone to really think forming their own country from their state of residence is a practical option is kind of hilarious. If you look at history, there was a wonderful and lengthy time the middle class held a much more generous percentage of the total wealth in this country. That time has faded, and it continues to get worse and worse. So, no, our current conditions are not just as they have always been.

-

This argument about welfare crops up here from time to time. I'll only say what I've always said:

I grew up on and off assistance. It was never, and is not, a 'trap'. It borders on ignorance and insult to suggest that public assistance amounts to some lap of luxury that rewards laziness with largesse. Life on welfare is not located on easy street. Yes, there is fraud, yes there are examples of those who take when they don't need to, or take more than they need. But to suggest that we have a class of people that are happy to stay poor is pure demagoguery that does nothing but further polarize this country. Welfare is part of a struggle in this country. It is not, in and of itself, the problem. This country is not failing to prosper because of a few too many single moms drawing a monthly check, no matter how much it may irk you that it occurs at all.

But if you play the game of "let's make it harder to get and stay on welfare", yes, you'll knock that small percentage of con artists out of the money. Congratulations, but you know what else you'll do? Starve kids and families, take people from the roof over their heads, and take away basic dignity of, and compassion for, the least fortunate among us. We have lots of structural problems in this country. Welfare fraud and enabled dependency are way, way, way down the list.

When I left home, I told myself I"d never be on welfare the way I had to as a child living with my dad. Not because of some self-satisfying "I have too much pride" reason, but because my plan was to always find a better way for myself. If welfare life was a good and easy lifestyle, I wouldn't have felt so strongly about it. Hard to break away from welfare? "Once you start receiving it you almost can't break away?" Come on, how demeaning.

But you do raise a valid question, that goes back to the question of general prosperity. How do we make sure that more pay into the system than receive the money from the system? We provide more opportunity for more people. The Republican ideal of "job creators" is limited at best and horseshit at worst. The real job creators, the real engine of this economy, are our middle and wage-earning classes. Strengthen them, or to put it better, give them the opportunity to strengthen themselves, and the number of folks that need assistance goes down.

Lady X, I am not trying to demean you when I say that it is a hard trap to break free from. Congratulations! I am glad you did. Nor do I believe it is a "lap of luxury." There are hardships involved. I should know, I was there too. I worked three jobs to put myself(young mother) through nursing school. I completely understand. I have many friends/family who did not make it through and are continuing to receive assistance. Why? because they can do better staying at home. Not saying that they by Cadillac, or anything of the sort. But they bring in more $ staying at home with their children then going to a FT job and paying for childcare. So they stay home, with their college education. There has to be a better way. For them, the ones receiving and stuck between staying home with little or working and receiving less. For us, those working and paying more then we receive. Where is our happy median?

I am trying to understand and find hope. He's my president too and I WANT this country to flourish.

The economy is already growing, albeit slower than we'd all like it to. If you look at our past recessions, starting with the end of the great depression, recovery has taken progressively longer each time, regardless of which party controlled the congress and/or the White House. I'm sure people will give differing answers as to why this is, but I think it can generally be chalked up to the ever-growing complexity of regional, national, and world economies. So, especially given the depth of this last one, it's simply unreasonable to expect us to snap out of it suddenly. But growth is occurring. Unemployment is shrinking. And, of course, as unemployment shrinks so do the welfare rolls. You'll always have a certain percentage needing assistance, as we'll never have zero-percent unemployment. We'll also always have a certain percentage of fraud and waste within our assistance programs. We try to minimize it, but as part of human nature, we just have to realize that the percentage makeup of true "takers" and scamsters within the system is small. You don't punish six deserving families to put the screws to one that bilks the system.

The closing of tax-loopholes for large corporations and the wealthiest Americans, coupled with friendly tax policy toward small businesses, the middle class, and the working class, all go toward bolstering consumerism, which grows the opportunity for those outside the very wealthiest group. It's no coincidence that as we've deregulated businesses, riddled our tax structure with loopholes, and lowered corporate and personal tax returns, that the total wealth in this country has steadily fallen into the hands of fewer and fewer people.

I don't think there was ever a time when most of our wealth was not in the hands of the wealthier.

I am concerned that we are building a system that rewards less work not vice versa. I am not uncharitable and not against helping those who deserve it. But I fear we are building a society that more and more looks for someone else to do the hard work for them. We have made public assistance a trap. Once you start receiving it you almost can't break away. I worry about getting to the point where "there are more in the cart then pulling it." How do we help without getting to this step?

Democracies tend to only last as long as it takes the populace to discover they can vote themselves more and more largess.

To the democrats here: I am truly curious(I consider myself an independent, and KNOW that I am not an economics major): How do we grow an economy and get people off of public assistance?

I know what makes sense to me. But since there are some very intelligent people on both sides, and no one purposefully wants us to fail, logically that means the left had to have some plan. I am curious what it is and how does it work?

Yeah, but aren't Libertarians (when stripped of all their wacky ideas that congress would never pass anyhow) basically Republicans at heart? I give you Ron Paul, for example, He had no trouble shifting Party allegiance between the GOP and the Libertarians and he didn't change anything other that the party affiliation that followed his name. If I was going to vote a third party, first they would have to have a legitimate chance of winning and be able to accomplish things WITH congress. It would most likely be the Green Party, especially following Hurricane Sandie and all the other environmental (climate change) issues that need to be addressed. Unfortunately, without substantial political reform, the only two parties that can do anything at all are the D's and R's, and given their theocratic platforms and plutocratic economic policies, the R's (and Libertarians) will never get my vote.

Libertarians want small govt. Republicans spout small govt, but when it comes to it they push for more.

Libertarians don't care what your religion is, as long as it doesn't interfere with mine.

Libertarians don't care who or how you fuck.

Libertarians don't care what or if you smoke, or eat.

Talk about looking wacky ideas, look at the green party!

Topic Can Romney/Ryan get elected?
Posted 07 Nov 2012 16:19

The republican party has completely forgotten the message that brought them to prominence in the 80's, that of fiscal responsibility and smaller government. They did not, however, shed themselves of the baggage of the religious right and the bigoted narrow minded agenda of their party. Now, they stand at a very important crossroad and I actually hope they can realize the danger they are in. Failing to do so will mean that they decline into being a niche party with little appeal to the mainstream of American voters. This may seem a good thing to some, but left with no serious challengers, the democratic party will have no reason to stay in the centrist mode Bill Clinton and Obama have followed and will almost certainly begin moving to the far left.

One party rule has never been good for any country and unless the republicans can somehow show the wisdom to fundamentally change their platform, one party rule is exactly where we are headed.

This!

Topic Can Romney/Ryan get elected?

I look at that 2nd party control as a check & balance. It keeps it so neither party can ram some of the more extreme measures down the throat of the American people. I think that we live in different ways. That's why we have different views and are so bitterly divided. I used to identify more as a democrat, but then I realized the extremists that that party embraces is trying to put so many out of their livelihoods.

I am going to focus on the positives: Washington, Maryland, Maine, Colorado, and N Dakota! Good for these states!

The truth is that if you make your living with animals you don't mistreat them! In much the same way you don't mistreat your boss. However, like I said I respect those who have different opinions then I do. I don't agree with PETA but at least they make no attempt to claim they are anything but a lobbying group.
