I stare into the depths of your eyes
Where hurricanes passionately thunder
And roll on the edge of this almost-calm,
The centre of this intimate storm.
You hold my gaze at the peak of
This deepest, hardest, pounding thrust,
A plunge that renders
My heart unconscious
In ecstasy of being filled with you.

We are almost in stasis,
You and I,
Arms wound in arms,
Fingers grabbing what they can.
We are ancient statues of god and goddess,
Communing in desirous spirit and eager, temporal flesh.
My legs cling tightly around you,
A needless effort to your craving
That embeds my body with your vigour.

No deeper can you penetrate me;
My sumptuous walls of velvet and spices
Squeeze your throbbing length
From pulsing tip to pulsing base,
A massage so hard it will squeeze your life force
Until you empty those rivers of pearl and wonder
Into this narrow, aching chasm of wanting.

We cannot breathe.
We have sucked all the oxygen from this world
And played it on the tips of our tongues.
We have gorged ourselves on the singing air
As we feasted on the beloved before us.
We have lost all sense of time and space,
And all that matters is the deep calling deep through our eyes,
The heavy feel of this shuddering penetration.

We are one, and two.
One, joined,
Impaled and surrounded
By two, the need and desire of each other.
This moment of plunging,
Of infinite depths,
Can birth worlds
And bring the universe crashing down
On our fascinated heads
As we throb into and onto each other;
This single skip of a heart beat
Before the pendulum of life and love-making swings again,
Tearing down all our defences and self-awareness.
And all that exists
Here and now
Is you and I
In this precious,
Pendulum pause.
