In dreams this world might fall away In wishes the heart can come and play Death’s bright angel appeared in a dream
And showed me my imminent fate
Awaiting and on what day and time she would claim me at the last
I have had a rich life and full I said
You will not get much fight from me
As you might from some greedy for life or frightened of death
The expressionless spirit lifted one finger
One wish can be granted she advised
One wish in a dream to still a heart’s yearning and set you on the way
If you have one wish to grant
Let me lie down with her but once
And know her scent her taste her touch her love
And suddenly it was so
I stood naked beside you as you lay asleep
The body I wore youthful and formed to match your deepest desire
Your hair was black and lustrous
Your face at peace in the moonlight
Your chest rose and fell your body fulsome and young and feminine
In my dream you awoke aware
That I was standing ghostly there
you smiled to see my face and feel the touch we’ve never shared
I want to hear your voice I said
Tell me there is still a place in your heart
For my tired shade, this ardent traveler, whose heart you’ve held so long
I have your place right here you said
I always have and always will
Though years and distance intervened I know your aspect still
Ah, so long, so long ago I say
I curse myself for going astray
From you for losing you to time and the world's most weary way
Your arms extend a welcome
that I return in this dream's embrace
My lips find your lips and then slowly travel the length of you
Our bodies do as bodies do
Denied relief from timeless yearning
Hands searching the geography of this flesh unknown till now
Tenderly we touch as if careful
Not to bruise some newfound fruit
Fingers trace the face of the beloved one thought lost in the world
lips and mouths and hands
hips and breast and chest
we explore the other as if bidden to map this memory
Dreams know their own time
And the angel’s dream is timeless
We sink into a conjugal bed of tender rapture of songs our bodies sing
Lifeblood engorges and hardens my shaft
Moistness and a warm melting prepare your swollen vulva
We grasp and gasp as this dream provides a coupling so long denied
I enter you as you entered my heart
So long ago tenderly and taking care not to hurt
Our bodies slowly begin to dance to this dream's delight
Are we rhythm now or the rhythm us
we return to each other through each other
Once again for the first time we find that which was never truly lost
Our movements mirror each the other
As if we share but one mind and wish
And seek one moment's bliss near now and uncontained it builds within us
Don’t let it end don’t let it end
This dream is where I want to stay
You pull me into yourself deeper and harder, faster and farther
A scream escapes your mouth
Echoing my own the stars in the sky
scream our bodies give and receive all the rapture the world can hold
starseed erupting from a shattering nova
earthseed volcanic in a fiery ocean
our bodies sing and echo the universe as it cries and explodes to create itself
Two bodies writhe in lover's struggle
nerves alight too much to hold within
I release all the years wanting into your body your body bucking under me
the afterglow is warm and wet with our eyes love-locked looking into the other
this being our dream and our wish now
throughout the endless moonlit night
You and I embrace and engage again our bodies dancing like a favorite waltz
