Seconds, minutes, hours have passed
Since I’ve rent my heart in two
And said good-bye to you.
When we met, I had been so sure
That my heart was safely locked away
Alas no, it was there, right on my sleeve.
How could I not see you snatch a piece of it?
Like a thief taker, in the middle of the night
With spoken words of love you took it away.
When you called me beloved
I chose to ignore,
that little piece drifting off to you Because I wanted more
He knows that my heart bleeds
And that it bleeds for
you He hopes that one day, soon, I’ll give it back to him.
This jagged organ
For which the life of me
I would rip out of my chest.
So that this radiating pain
Shooting through me
Would give me some rest.
So, this is what happens
After good-bye is said
When will this turmoil and heartache end?
