I drape the towel around her soft beaded skin.
We collect ourselves amidst the sunshine.
The sip of margaritas helps us unwind.
I haven't even asked her where she's been.
She's able to stifle most curious men.
My heart is missing as she kisses me.
My lungs take her in, as she sets me free.
She's answered every call I made to when?
Hands entwined, a bead of sweat rolls on me.
Kiss her hand and erase the yesterday.
Her smile, the sun, it's hard for me to see.
Blowing out the candles, a New Year's Day.
She doesn't even ask me, "Why the smile?"
She just lets me drift again, for a while.
