Coming home

I lay on my bed thinking about you
Wishing you were here with me
I fall asleep with tears in my eyes
Knowing that I will sleep alone
I miss having your arms wrapped around me
Sleeping together side by side
As I lay sleeping on my side of the bed
You watch me as I brush the hair from my face
Smiling as you hear me whisper your name
I look like an angel so innocent and pure
You know that I am dreaming of you
The bed sinks down as you lay down beside me
I turn to you in my sleep and whisper
Baby your home I missed you so much
You caress my head and place a kiss on my forehead
Go back to sleep my love you say
I feel your arms wrap around me
Warming me with your touch
I sleep better with your arms wrapped around me
My head on your chest
I wake the next morning to an empty bed
Thinking that laying in your arms was all a dream
I looked over to your pillow
A red rose in the place where you lay your head
That's when I know I wasn't dreaming
You were really with me
