I lay in bed. It’s late.
The window is open the moon shining in.
No sound reaches my ears.
The clock in the church tower strikes three
I sob into my pillow,
So as not to awaken my house.
My bedroom door opens slowly.
I hear the pad of feet coming to me.
“Daddy it’s all right.”
My 21 year old daughter stands there.
Tears are on her face too.
“I miss her too Daddy.”
She climbs on the bed with me.
I only regret her mother never seeing,
The woman she became.
Mom died ten years ago this night at three am.
She wraps her arms around me.
She pulls me closer. I protest.
She is naked in my bed.
“Daddy it’s all right.”
I shift to face her.
We kiss each other’s tears away.
Our lips meet in a tender loving kiss.
I pull away. I can’t do this.
She kisses me more.
I feel aroused in my loins.
She feels it too.
“Daddy it’s all right.”
With the light streaming in,
I see her naked youthful body looking like her mother.
I reach out.
I touch her face and her neck.
She takes my hand.
She moves it down to her breast.
She holds my hand there.
“Daddy it’s all right.”
She hugs me tighter.
Her face lights up.
She wants this for her as well.
Her hand drifts to my manhood
Knocking at her woman’s door.
She opens her legs to allow me entrance
We couple in the most intimate embrace.
We mix our fluids together
Soon it is over and we separate
We fall asleep in each other’s arms
Contented in the knowledge we are better.
I see her mom smiling back at me from her.
“Daddy it’s all right.”
