There's rain on the window
It's morning
As she stares through the glass
at the ground
There's a tear on her cheek
She's turning
And the light just catches
her frown
The footprints of yesterday's loving
Are washed by the rain as it falls
And the heartache of yesterday's caring
Has her imprisoned between these four walls
The walls close in
on her thinking
She can't see beyond
her own pain
Just talking and saying
good morning
Has become such an
unbearable strain
Watching herself
in the mirror
She sees whats been
there all along
In loving herself
she discovers
A music that's never
Accompanied any love song
Her mind now clear
her heart now pure
The mirror her passion, revives
And energy grows in her heart
For its her she'd be missing
The most, if she cried
If sadness over came her smile
And she from herself was apart
The footprints of yesterday's loving
Are naught but the rain as it falls
A gentle reminder of life and of living
As herself through the mirror recalls
