For Want of You

This sultry, shimmering wall of blazing heat
Is as misplaced in the night as a
Creature of darkness exposed in the day.

I step outside and walk to meet you,
The cavernous oven melting my hair
To lie clinging, dripping
On my neck.
My footsteps wade through
This black orchid syrup mist
Towards you.

I cannot breathe.

But I don't want to,
Not without your touch
Sliding down this sweating skin
That aches and throbs for you.
Not without your hot, teasing mouth
Leaving a cooler trail down my body
In this volcano midnight.

Through the jungle velvet,
Down to the shore;
The roiling heat of the sand
A pumice of scarlet coral
Upon these feet that walk towards you.

I cannot breathe.

Lost in ecstasy and suffocation
Of this sweltering furnace,
My limbs are weighed down by the fire
That burns around us
And you take me in your arms
As my legs give way and
My arms grow limp.

I cannot breathe.

You lay me down
Into the sand that crawls to the sea for release.
Your arms snake around this gasping form
Of liquid lust
As the molten lava pours around us
And envelops us in this oily, steamy, driving
Passion.

My leaden arms strive to cling to your neck
And your hot, grasping hands raise them for me,
The mercury rain of your kisses,
Sliding and slippery,
Only seek to emblazon this night on my heart.

Skin on skin,
Slick with a starry constellation of sweat,
We move together in this cauldron,
My midnight broken by a blinding white fire
As you enter me deep
And suck from me the salty trickles
Of my desperate need for you.
You fill me completely.

I cannot breathe.

White hot stars pop and burst before my eyes
In showers of illicit freedom
As your essence bursts forth and promises
A cooling of this hideous craving
For you.

And still...

I cannot breathe for want of you.
