Incompletion

craving you
.

Dreaming of your face

Your mouth

Your gentle laugh

Has become an incompletion.

This hunger draws me closer

To the precipice

And a nightmare of unwise wanting.

Memories of sweetness

Cannot feed my heart.

I am torn in the effort

To understand this silky binding

That tethers me to

Stony bareness,

So near...

So far.

You draw away in the gloaming,

In the violet hour,

To the singing of your own heart.

Seeking my own filling

Leaves me weeping

In the dawning of a new day.

There is no peace,

Only soul-deep yearning.

And at the edge,

Incompletion.

This was moving in its simplicity. Deep in its harmony and touching in its meaning. Wonderful work.

Nice, but what would really bring this poem to completion would be the addition of a penguin...<(")

"A nightmare of unwise wanting ... draw away to the singing of your own heart ..."

This speaks to me in ways that little else has. Once again, your words go straight to the heart of the matter.

Another beautiful, tender, emotional look deep into your being and soul. The words take the reader into your feelings so smoothly and eloquently. Charged emotion unveiled looking for completion in an incomplete, imperfect world.

You continue to outdo yourself with each new poem. You continue to find new ways to touch the reader and render them speechless. And you continue to find new ways of expressing just how sincere a poet you are. Bravo. Talent and spirit intertwined. Perfection.
