Slipping Away

Slipping Away

Is it slipping away?
Have I done it again,
The same stupid mistakes?
No answer to my pleas.
No sign that she is there.
It has happened before,
This is not a new loss,
But I have tried so hard.
I was told I could trust.
I was told I was loved.
I was told many things.
Which will turn out the truth?
Which will be my new life?
Without her or with her,
I cannot be so sure.
The silence foreboding,
No replies, no message.
I just know I have failed
As I did once before.
But this time I will wait,
I will not give up hope
That there is a reason,
A meaning I don't know.
Waiting and more waiting
Will be my bow to fate.
Without her I can live,
But with her the earth glows.
So no giving up now.
No acceptance of fate.
If this is heard by her,
Perhaps we can resolve
To live our lives in peace.

This resounds with me in words I can't sum up here. Incredibly moving. Read it several times, each time its impact growing. And six syllables per line!

This piece strikes deep into the heart and sends the soul aflutter into the scope of the unknown, but I love that it speaks to the strength in trust! Very nice.

You are amazing when you pour your heart out like this. Waiting is one of the hardest things to endure. As always I applaud your beautiful work.

It is sad to have someone slipping away like that, without knowing the end. That makes love hard and worthwhile. I love the fact that the poem says that you can live without her, but with her the world would be a better place for you. Beautiful, soulfully true and very touching. We all have been there.
