Song of Magic

there are all kinds of magic

Lying naked in the leaves

outside the garden wall

I hear strings and horns

in the sound

of the limbs blowing,

the meandering creek

and wind in hollow trees.

Your voice sings the melody

in a minor key

speaking feelings and thoughts

and I long to sing that song

back to you.

But my voice joins in counterpoint

and I smile at myself,

laid bare,

singing sweetly,

unknown in my hidden world.

I will not be seen

or heard

here in my quiet place.

But I will

sing my magic spell,

believe in what is true,

see your naked body

in my mind's eye

and love you.

Oh now this one went straight to my heart. The words were sweet and touching, and the reading was delicious. Such sweet magic.
It is unavoidable.

Setting aside your auditory beauty for a moment, I must say that these are the sweetest words I can recall my favorite southern lass has ever writing. Adding to it is your sweet softly accented voice...
and I am no less than enchanted.

LauraLee, your writing keeps getting better. I looked up a quote I remembered - turns out it was Dorothy Allison who said, "Write to your fear." (and tofay is her birthday! - how propitious!)

so lovely, so soft, so sweet, so gentle, the music of nature, the harmony of being...your voice is tender and I can hear your longing and caring. You are so talented.

Another beautiful poem. Moving. I almost felt I could hear your voice even before listening to the recording. Well done!

Your recordings just get better and better as you become more comfortable with doing it. Combined with magical words like this, just fantastic LauraLee...high five..
