That Feeling

When will I ever find that special feeling that I seek?
It keeps slipping through my fingers making me feel meek.

I worried that he caught me on the rebound,
But I was sure once again that feeling was found.

It started out incredible, so very smoking hot,
But it's cooling down much faster than I ever thought.

Now I am in limbo once again waiting to see,
If I will end up having to set this one free.

This cycle never changes when will I ever learn?
That when you find passion so hot you will get burned.

Fleeting at best, it will always leave,
This lack of commitment is my pet peeve.

Why do they bother to say always and forever?
When sooner or later all ties they will sever.

I suppose I should be happy for the good times that were spent,
Even if the words they said to me just really were not meant.

Did they get carried away in the passion of the moment?
I wonder what it is that always begins the descent.

I am really not stupid I am actually quite cleaver and smart,
You would think I would have learned this lesson from the start.

Could it be I just have the worst luck in the world?
I don't know how many more times I can do this before I hurl.

I am cursed or maybe doomed to keep repeating history,
Till I find the one who will always give that feeling to me.
