How easy it was for you to claim me.
Your eyes snaring me.
Holding me in your gaze.
My will only to be with you.
Just you.
You gazed at me and my life ended as I knew it,
And a new life began.
More pain.
More agony.
More love than I had ever known.
How could I hurt so much at the thought of you?
And yet,
Seek only your attention.
Your approval of me.
You made me want to be a better man for you.
I tried.
Yet was hopeless in my efforts.
Your eyes.
Pulling me deeper into your control.
Your eyes.
Wrapping me tightly in your web of love as you smiled.
Your eyes.
Looking into mine as I kissed you.
Your eyes.
Weeping.
As you told me goodbye for another.
It was those eyes that haunted me for all of my life.
Your eyes.
The way you glanced at me from the side.
Without turning your head.
And my heart would race.
The way they sparkled when you laughed.
And my mind etched your image.
The way they rendered me helpless when you cried.
And my body weakened.
The way they filled my senses.
My memories.
My waking moments all of these years.
And led me back to you so many years later.
That look.
Beckoning me from the past.
Guiding me through the hopeless struggles of painful memories.
Those eyes.
Found me again.
And my life has again ended as I knew it.
