The Bitch is Back

Tags: lover, affair
She’s back again, promising to play nice

Do I believe her or is it a roll of the dice

It was over, make believe when she deleted him from her life

I can’t say I was heartbroken; I was one very happy wife

She’s saying she is so lonely and oh so blue

And just chatting with him is all she wants to do

Asking my permission if that would be okay

Assuring me it’s as a friend and no public display

Her falling in love with another woman’s man

Is just something that I cannot fully understand

She has a husband whom cannot fulfill her needs

She writes about her addiction and other nasty deeds

Texting, Facebook, nude photos, and phone calls up the wazoo

Was a little too much for me to handle and nothing I could do

My man and I have parted ways much to my dismay

A six month vacation is what we are calling our separation today

Will her heart-breaker poems and her chatting keep us apart for good

I’m hoping it won’t affect him again but, to be sure I’m knocking on wood.

Wish you best in starting it over again Joan. One needs to be careful & ponder a thousand times while starting over. 5

Starting over may be heart-breaking. But some things are just meant to be and a fresh start has its own rewards..

Just as with all your poems you say so much with a few powerful words. As always, your phrasing is outstanding, Joan.

As usual your emotions are so well displayed.

Painful for you to write and painful for those of us that love you to read. Keep on being YOU!!

Nice poem, but a heart-breaking emotion. I'm feeling your hurt Joan, your anxiety, your "second-thoughts".
Your being is love and caring - don't let go!

Sometimes we hold things inside and pressure builds up until we crack.. it's the cracks that let the light in.. venting is good..

I am reading a lot into this and MORE than kind of hoping I'm not following something really bad as it happens. You have loved this man since the day you met him, and he has loved you in the ways that count the most. This other lady sounds like she will be really bad for him and I hope he realizes it. It's been 13 days since you announced you and he would give it another go. You have loved three good men in husband-wife love; two of them are in Heaven, he remains on this earth and you would love to brighten each other's lives for the rest of your days. You may fear for him losing everything if he resumes his relationship with that woman, including all that he had genuinely earned and won from you (and perhaps from the many friends before that). We've talked about your capacity for caring. You only let go when there is no other choice, and you never forget and always open your heart to those you love. You are a special woman. Let's keep in touch!

Nice poem, Joan, I liked the rhyme scheme, the emotion, and the tone of this piece. I know most readers can relate to this poem. Thanks for sharing!

Wow powerful words. Never trust a woman who wants back in even if she says it is harmless fun. You got snookered. This woman wanted what you had and would not take no for an answer. You are bitter and rightfully so. Great poem. Full of blaming yourself for being a nice lady. You were taken advantage of and now you are hurt. Such raw pain and hurt. I can feel it and it made me sad. I want to hug you and take you away from it.
