The Colour of Your Eyes

The rosy pink blush of dawn and the cerise of the rising sun
Warm my face as you sleepily smile at me in the morning.

Luscious green emerald depths of the grass soothe my soul as you hold me in your arms
And murmur to me of our growing closeness.

White delicate blossom petals swirl like sweet snow
As you kiss tenderness over my face.

Fierce black clouds gather and gloam when the laughter at your lover’s form in the streets
Pulls your anger to the windswept heights and brings it hurtling down in fury.

Hazel brown heat from the deep lovely earth mellows all of my fears
As you whisper of steadfast protection against the ice of worries.

Sunshine yellow throws a butter-kissed glow under my chin
As you kiss my neck for delight in me.

Fiery red-orange flickers deep and persuading as passions run high
And you take me with lustful appreciation.

Ocean blue seas and the infinite sky beckon me forward
To be lost in the wonder of you touching my heart with your own.

Heathery purple mists dust my body with your sated relaxation
After our lovemaking has brought us to twilight slumber.

Stormy grey clouds swirl and darken with yearning gloom
As you say goodbye to me every time we part.

Rainbow spikes and softest sparkles of diamonds fall around me as we meet again,
The brightness raining down in a plunging waterfall of your joy.

What is the colour of your eyes?
I cannot tell, for it is every colour ever made,
And every colour never seen,
And every colour too big to dream.

I would give all that I had to have you cast your rainbow glance on me,
Just once, before I die.
