My New Year's Eve social obligations complete
I rest.
It is 2012 somewhere.
Here I recline naked on my clean sheets
in my solitary bed
eating strawberries and drinking champagne;
listening to the fireworks of neighborhood children.
A new voice whispers in my brain
thoughts of next year
when the one I yearn for will lie next to me
on my clean sheets
and eat strawberries from my hand
and drink champagne from between my breasts
and run his tongue over my lips
as he slides his erection ever so slowly into me.
