The light had all but gone,
Extinguished by cruel words,
And harsh moments.

Her feelings numbed,
And thoughts disregarded,
The candle snubbed out again and again.

Rare glimpses into her sad life,
She hides so well,
It almost doesn’t exist.

Life is like this, she lied again,
And took those lies in, 
'Til they became reality.

The smile she wears,
Is open but darkly shaded,
Ready to spring to life when needed.

How do you heal the heart?
Not found anyone to manage a miracle,
So she wanders through her life.

A taste of peace she found,
With kind and gentle words,
To other broken beings like her.

Who looked and read and talked,
Shared hidden dark desires,
And aches that needed touch.

See everyone has pain,
And all need soft caresses,
Each one as special as the next.

Her lips a seal they made,
Secrets kept for those in need,
And friends, her arms to hold.

No falling in lust for her,
Not worth the tears she sees on here,
Alone but free, she smiles.
