Twirling in my dress, I tingle at bringing in the new year… with him.  

Then, my husband forgoes traditional resolutions for a revelation. 

I watch the clock tick toward an uncertain new year while listening to his reasons. 

Shocking us both, I say, "I wanna meet her." 

When the vision in red silk enters our bedroom, I release my held breath, then smile. "You're gorgeous!" 

My husband beams, his makeup-shadowed eyes misting. 

Acceptance inflaming passion, we undress one another, two dresses pooling together on the floor. 

I cap his hand shifting to his thigh. "No. The stockings and stilettos stay."
