THE QUEEN OF THE NILE – EPILOGUE
The Time: 2066
The Place: The Valley of the Pharaohs, Egypt
Calcutta Murphy was sweating profusely from every pore of her exquisitely formed 30 year-old body. She felt it running down all the way to her feet planted in the hot desert sand. The multitude of her followers circled around her in a human wall of flesh not seen for thousands of years.
There was a noticeable equity in the distribution of gender in this mass of humanity. The liberating overturn of hated dictatorships some 55 years before had induced a partnership of equality that set the stage for Neferuptah to return to her rightful place as Queen of the Nile.
Less than 5 short years ago, she had returned to the land of her destiny and set out to reclaim her rightful fortune from the desert sands.
The taxi driver who had driven this strange English speaking girl out to the “Black” Pyramid was bored and wanted only to return to Alexandria and his dream-pipe delivered into his hand by the smiling daughter of sin called “Tamara”.
He saw the attractive foreign girl look off into the distance at the Pyramid shimmering in the heat rising from the desert floor. There were 3 vehicles approaching from the direction of the Pyramid. Suddenly, Ali did not like this excursion to the ancient tourist spot.
What if these were bandits or exiles from the disbanded “Brotherhood”?
He was really on edge when he saw the dozen or so hard looking men emerge from the vehicles and surround the defenseless girl in a tightknit circle.
“Praise Allah! What if they have come to rape this poor girl?”
He knew he had no chance against such odds and would be forced to watch her degradation. But then, after all, she was a foreigner and they are well used to such diversions. He rested back against his taxi door in a relaxed pose of utter indifference.
To his startled eyes, the men all prostrated themselves at the feet of the diminutive female and chanted phrases that sounded all too much like dreaded incantations.
“Is this some new-fangled cult that preys on tourists?” was his silent thought.
The girl raised her arms up to the sun-God RA and began to speak in an ancient language he remembered hearing from his grandmother reciting a ritual blessing for one of his many offspring.
The words rang out like a thunderclap into the barren valley. He felt certain that they could be heard even on the “Black” Pyramid itself.
The girl turned to him and he could see the greenish light shining in her bottomless eyes.
“You may go, do not speak of this or feel the wrath of Neferuptah on you and your children’s children.”
A chill ran up Ali’s spine and he hurried to get behind the wheel and be off. He was so frightened; he completely forgot to ask for a tip.
The descendants of the mummification high priests led Calcutta Murphy to the hidden caves of the riches of the rightful Queen of the Nile. These funds financed her political wheeling and dealing that soon saw her create an empire of the shattered Egyptian kingdoms. It was an Empire that shunned the Economic excesses of the west and placed no special import to matters of any religious belief.
The teeming masses were content to return to the old ways.
The Nile flowed with renewed vigor and females made conscious efforts to please males in all manners of sensual pleasure making. The populations exploded and strong males vied for the chance to serve the new Pharaoh Queen, Calcutta Murphy.
Even the oldest and the wisest of the influence makers saw the rightness of this and sanctioned her rule.
Any replicas or writings that spoke of the “crocodile Queen” Neferusobek were burned and even her name was forbidden to be mentioned in public.
Neferuptah was satisfied with her new found power. She knew her greatest threat was still the danger from the tiny little kingdom of warriors from the north but she felt her non-aggressive policy would neutralize them until they were weak enough to be destroyed. Now she could turn her attentions to erecting her own final resting place.
A new and glorious Pyramid would rise in the valley of the Pharaohs and it would be her home for eons to come.
Neferuptah was home at last!
