Sometimes crazy, sometimes introspective, I adore women which has led to many adventures and a few misadventures...I question authority, mostly respectfully....I am a terrible friend who rarely posts on walls and I disappear for months at a time. You will find me most often posting smart ass remarks in forums. I'm open to emails and chat requests but prefer to carry on one conversation at a time, would rather focus on one person and I suck at multi-tasking. So if I tell you I am busy please don't be offended, I can always email you later.
If commenting on my stories please be honest, I'm learning. Comments, good or bad, will help me improve!
Guess I should mention I don't post my picture on Lush for professional reasons. I have trouble sitting still, daydream constantly and have an insatiable curiosity...I seem to be one of the few people on the planet who doesn't own a personal cell phone...I'm a bad boy with clever charm. Don't say I didn't warn you.

Topic: Am I normal if I've never squirted and think it's scary/gross?
Posted: 10 Dec 2017 10:30

Based on my experience I'd say its far more normal to not squirt as that's been a pretty rare occurrence in my experience. As for what turns you on/off or grosses you out its all a pretty personal thing and I wouldn't worry about it in the least.
I've been known to make women cry for reasons I often don't understand...before during and after sex...I don't overthink it...

Some of the easiest to find and more reflective, is poetry. Some great creative minds have worried in that area. Even start with Song lyrics.... wide open, easy to access and reasonably short for small group work.

Careful in your efforts to "pick out" what you think they want or should read in considering where they are or come from. I tend to resent that greatly, when others "don't know me".

I was thinking about poetry and music too but shied away thinking that current day content might just reinforce stereotypes and the same circle of disadvantage. Not sure "Smack Da Bitch Up" is a helpful choice but then I'm just a dumbass whiteboy. But weekender makes a great point about trying to "pick out" what they want or should read. I'm thinking along the lines of derailing the current education process that leaves minorities with no relevant point of reference. Some great suggestions here btw, thanx to everyone for helping me build my own reading list.
You may want to include the poetry of Gil Scott Heron, often referred to as the Godfather of Rap. My fav is " Whitey on the Moon " where he describes the black experience but hey its all good bc we got a man on the moon. The concept still resonates today as we funnel billions in to government programs while kids don't have the basic necessities.
Another thought would be to include books from a broad variety of non-black writers/characters. In one book I read the teacher was trying to engage a black student using Othello which of course worked in the book but may not in reality. You never know, maybe a book by a Japanese writer will spark a lifelong interest in books.
I'm also wondering if you are thinking of linking reading to creative writing; taking what they read and using it to express themselves?

Interesting topic Rachel. I think both statements hold true for black men and probably to most if not all disadvantaged groups. The ability to read and write opens so many doors of opportunity.
I came across a great read called "The Spook Who Sat By the Door" by Sam Greenlee that might be interesting. Its about a black CIA guy who builds a network of black gang members to derail the establishment. May not be suitable reading for your audience but who knows. There are a ton of inspirational black writers out there, Mandela, Maya Angelou, Dick Gregory for starters.
I'm really interested to hear what other say about this.

Topic: The Shard-o-verse

Okay, I now have every Shard still on Lush in my sig line (I haven't actually published it yet, as I am awaiting verification on the latest one, so if it is overwhelmingly long, I will just use my faves).

The are in rough chronological order for the first 10 or so (the v.2 Shards), after which it all goes to hell.

There are eight Shards no longer on Lush: Elevation, Fire and Ice, Buttons, Morning Light, Mindful, The Razor Thin Edge, Business Casual and Reruns. They are pretty much my faves, and I pulled them off Lush to try to get them published in online/print mags. Sold three so far: Elevation, Buttons, and The Razor Thin Edge. The other five are out, breathlessly awaiting approval or rejection, anxiously awaiting their fates. Sorta like sending your kids off to college and out into the real world. At least, I think so, I an still a few years from experiencing that.

Congrats Verbal! Significant accomplishment but not really a surprise given the quality of the Shards. Hoping you see all your favs published!!!

Topic: Is there anyone who thinks this tax reform is actually a good idea?
Posted: 09 Dec 2017 10:50

US Corporate Cash

If anyone is wondering about how much cash US corporations are:
a) hoarding overseas
b) hoarding domestically

The story is from Sept 2016. So Trump is assuming that a lower corporate tax rate will bring trillions of dollars back into the USA where it will be invested for the good of all Americans. I won't be holding my breath. The problem is hardly unique to the US either as this is a common strategy employed by corporations all over the world. Overall US Corp's are holding $9.25 trillion in cash or about $13,000 for every man, woman and child in the USA. Given the current interest rate that money is essentially sitting idle.
I'm sure some of you are thinking what business is the US economy to some dumbass Canadian. Fact is the Canadian economy is dramatically affected by the US economy as they are our largest trading partner by far. So like it or not we have a vested interest in US policy as does much of the world.

Maybe Trump should impose a 30% tax on hoarded corporate cash then he can build that wall he promised. <img src="/forum/images/emoticons/evil7.gif" alt="evil5">

It was just a fragment of time Much like any other Carnal longing consumed our thoughts And left us melted to inaction   I thought I saw a hint of invitation Glowing in the corner of your smile But I was so oblivious Lost in my shimmery world of you   That I forgot The moment lost Cast like fountain coins Or those down wishing wells   Buts that’s ok, It’s best that way The...

Tiffany Myles. Pop Star. Her fame based more on clever marketing of her saccharine image than on her actual talent. I had been assigned to write her autobiography. She was twenty-three. I had contemplated telling my publisher to jam it but after my latest Vegas adventure, I needed the money. Twenty-three. For fuck’s sake. At thirty-four I had minimal tolerance for pop tarts or their...

The Exquisite Consequence of Desire

Your smile always shatters me A million shards of longing The unbearable desolation Of your absence soon forgotten   Vanished to your incandescent kiss Oh! How you fill this emptiness Your beauty is dark sorcery Let loose chaotic ecstasy   The devil’s smoulder in your eyes Unspoken invitation Your touch ignites exquisite ache Silk whispers, captivation   Tonight you are...

Recommended Read Katy And The Canadian

My name is Katy. I’m from a small New England town where my family has lived for centuries. My father is the town banker, my mother the volunteer who drives everyone crazy with her strident manner. Describing my family as starchy would be putting it mildly and my childhood was quite strict. My parents were very controlling although I love them both dearly. I like to think I’m kind of...

I Help You Out of Your Dress

I stepped into the room; you stood there in a short, black silk dress that fit you like a suggestion, accentuating every captivating curve. I stood for a moment and simply watched you, admiring your stunning beauty. The thin straps of your dress had already fallen from your delicate shoulders, leaving them bare… You smiled, that perfect smile that never fails to set my heartbeat faster....

I’m a pretty quiet guy. Somewhat stealthy you might say. I tend to enter a room soundlessly. Subconsciously I suspect I’m secretly hoping to catch someone up to mischief. Consciously, I know damn well…I’m really hoping for a glimpse of naked flesh. Don’t look at me like that. I know you have the same little secret, don’t you? Last week we were supposed to get hit with a major snowstorm here...

The Empty Shape of You

In you I always lost myself but I never knew A heart could turn to blackened dust and I’d be losing you The feather touch of memories that swirl around my head And there’s an empty shape of you lying in my bed Where once our hearts were synchronized Our promises were atomized A love that turned to empty words When once your voice was all I heard Our fingers...

Pink Lipstick

Pink Lipstick I twist your hair around my wrist And slowly push you to your knees Firelight dancing in your eyes We both know what you need My thumb traces your pink lipstick You tremble but don’t speak You want to hide your hunger But you’re betrayed, by nipples peaked Straining forward anxiously Rough ropes about your wrists I raise an eyebrow slowly There’s something you...
