About billybroadband

I've been on lush the last few years now. I don't know if that is a good thing or a bad thing sometimes. It's certainly been....interesting.

I like hats. My photo gallery is evidence of that.

I am originally from Indiana, where they used to manufacture Studebakers. I recently acquired a 1952 Studebaker Champion named Susie, pix of which are in my gallery. Life is good. Enjoy yours!

My avatars are often barometers of how I feel. I like having fun with them. I tend to saddle up and vanish from here at times. Too much of a good thing can be a bad thing. I stay in touch with lushies like Dragon_Lilly and other friends, some casual and some close, who have shown me caring and concern through some rough terrain. I cherish all of them.

Alas, I'm an unrepentant smartass, which occasionally gets me into hot water. I am drawn here to people with wit, charm, honesty, and openness. Once in a while I'll pop out a story or poem.

I can sometimes be found here having some porn with my coffee in the early morning hour in the dirty pictures room.

I bat left-handed but I throw right.

Relationship Status:
I like well written stories and poetry and I like erotic photography, particularly black and whites. I don't care much for what I call "open heart surgery" erotica.

I love good music played loud. And I have a dog named Maggie May who owns my heart lock stock and barrel.
Favorite Books:
Catch-22. Another Roadside Attraction. Even Cowgirls Get the Blues. Tarzan and the Jewels of Opar. Time Enough for Love. The Catcher in the Rye. For Whom the Bell Tolls. A Moveable Feast. I also like poetry. My library card is well used.
Favorite Authors:
Kurt Vonnegut, Robert Heinlein, Hunter Thompson, Jack Kerouac, Tom Robbins, Edgar Rice Burroughs, Charles Bukowski. J.D. Salinger, e e cummings, Hemingway, Snyder, Corso, Ginsburg, Heller, Royko, Kazantzakis, on and on.
Favorite Movies:
Guardians of the Galaxy. Romeo and Juliet. Last of the Mohicans, Caddyshack, the Shawshank Redemption, the Bourne movies, the Fifth Element, the Magnificent Seven, nearly anything with Bill Murray. The Big Lebowski. French sex comedies, like "Cousin, Cousine". Pretty much anything with Penelope Cruz, Audrey Hepburn, or Ingrid Bergman. I developed a fondness for German soft-core porn movies while stationed in Germany. Go figure.
Favourite TV Shows:
I don't watch too much TV anymore, which is weird since I'm in the TV business. Most TV programming is shit. Ken Burns is good. Oh, and the UFO documentaries.
Favorite Music:
I know it when I hear it. I like to explore different genres. I'm particularly fond of samba, Motown, the Great American Songbook, the classic singers/songwriters, some of the new stuff, and vocal jazz. John Prine. Sinatra, J.J. Cale, Mark Knopfler. Railroad Earth. Nicola Conte. Antonio Carlos Jobim. Lucinda Williams. Supertramp. Al Green, Marvin Gaye, Curtis Mayfield. Leonard Cohen.

Any of my stories that contain the name "billy" in them are based on my life's experiences. One story was my way of consummating a relationship with the gal who gleefully broke my heart during my University years. Another is based on a trip to Amsterdam I took while stationed in Germany. One is my fantasy of losing my virginity to a black girl I had a huge crush on in high school. Yet another is based on a love affair I had with a beautiful blond waitress when I tended bar. On my bucket list are stories of a one night stand with a stacked bartender in Phoenix with an incredible sexual appetite and a Mormon gal I worked with in Southern California who had a NSW way of making the workdays more interesting. As for stealing from others....I am sure subconsciously I do, but I like to think I have found my own "voice", or that I am getting there.

So, yeah, punch my ticket and hand me the sunscreen. I'm going to hell but I sure as fuck won't fit in that tiny hand basket.

If I do, I just block them. Problem solved. I used to yell at assholes in the chat rooms but now I just block them. I figured out that there is a certain level of cluelessness out there that is beyond help.

Trinket was one of the people I met early on at Lush a few years (4 maybe?) ago now. I was inebriated a lot back then and she would hose me down after a particularly bad night. Bless her heart. I've tried to keep her in bacon ever since....

“Darkness is its own kingdom, It moves to its own laws, And many living things dwell in it.” -Patricia McKillip My kind is startling to humans when we are accidentally glimpsed, cloaked in night’s dark mystery. We are a unique type of were-folk, with an appearance more feline than wolfen, and of course werewolves are far more prevalent in your mythologies. We learned long ago to...

Editor's Pick The Inheritance

I am a farmer of fertile Kansas fields, considered by most to be a kind man with a welcoming smile. A pillar of the small farming community I call home, an elder at my church, and decent enough looking that women have commented on it over the years, particularly my blue eyes, which contrast with my weathered skin, I guess. I always choose my words carefully with men and women alike, and I like...

I am the beast that you feel in the night bold girl walking alone in the dark self assurance in your every stride when you return to your home I watch for you I am the whisper you thought that you heard the word that did not quite register at first Your name, whispered soft, silent as a spring wind the name I cannot resist using as a form of worship I am quiet and motionless as you saunter by...

Recommended Read Happy New Year, 1976

Jill walked through the front door of the Bluebird Bar covered with snow. She got a mischievous grin on her face when she saw me. She walked up to my station and set her large thermos on the bar between us. She had on a huge over-sized knit hat and mittens that matched her black pea coat. It was obviously starting to come down pretty thick outside. It had only been flurries when I had started...

She was a new girl. I had seen her sometimes, strolling through the market, taking her time, enjoying the booths and the people. I never saw her actually purchase anything but she always had a smile for those trying to get a sale out of her, before gently refusing and moving on. My poor booth never drew her attention until today when she stopped in front of me, offering an impish smile...

Many years later, after taking my virginity, Rosie would tell me that it was what I wrote to her in third grade that initially endeared me to her. A couple mean boys had taunted her about her skin color on the playground and I was a silent observer of the incident. My heart went out to her when I saw her lower lip tremble, followed closely by a steady stream of large tears wetting her...

I’m so hungry from your love, My sweet child. We tossed all morning Now toss me a salad. Something fresh With tart and crunch to it. Peel off and carefully Tear some fresh purple-veined Romaine As I watch with sleepy sated eyes. Next a small wedge of iceberg Crisp and scrumptious. I am still savoring your girlish taste In my mouth, And your face...

I can’t go very long these days before I get the desire to see her Her eyes, her smile her body I feel an ache, a craving eating away inside of me An itch that I can’t scratch myself I need to feel the touch of she who cares for me and has a similar ache within her self I tell myself I’m my own man again  and I've got places to see and wander through alone Before...

Pillow Time

I do so love the storm of you. The wild wet winds of your passion Unleashed Unbound Untamed. But it is after the storm, when the calm sets back in and we lie entwined together, those are the moments I crave when apart. “Pillow time” you called it once. Those long quiet moments. No words No sounds No urgency. That is when I seek your eyes with my eyes...

Hello, honey. It was really nice  to see you again last night. You’ve been coming to visit more often  (Not that I’m complaining, mind you.) The image of you  that remained when I woke  was that smile you had that stole my heart  so many years ago now. I think you were at a beach,  maybe Puerto Rico,  after we were out of the rough patch  and falling in love again. Remember? ...
