Topic Political party hypocrisy
Posted 02 Mar 2013 19:03

I assure you I don't worship any politician. I was being sarcastic.

Most politicians are only worried about whether or not they will be reelected. They put party above the people. I wish we had term limits on the Senate and the House. It works for the Presidency, why not the legislative branch?

By the way, Woodward's access to the White House was being threatened, not his physical well being. Just a day after Woodwards dust up, another well known right wing "wingnut" Lanny Davis (from the Clinton Administration) said that the Obama White House had threatened him with the same after a column he wrote that they didn't like. You just gotta love the Chicago Way of politics. I live in Chicago and we are used these tactics around here, now it has been exported to Washington.

I woke up at 4:00 am wide awake after 4 hours of sleep. Rather than toss and turn in bed I got up and came to Lush to see what's going on. That was 2 hours ago. Now I'm feeling sleepy again, so I'll jump back in bed and sleep (hopefully) until 8:00. See you later kids!

Topic Beating the Smoking Addiction?

The city of Chicago just increased the tax on a pack of cigarettes by $1.00 starting March 1st. The price of a pack is now over $7.00 in most places. Two pack a day habit would be $420 a month. That monthly amount would certainly buy you one nice automobile. That would motivate me to quit.

Ah, yes, Mr. Woodward....The Lion of the Media. The guy that brought down Nixon. It's a different story now that he had the nerve to differ with the God King Obama. All the media types in Washington throw Mr. Woodward under the bus. Now Mr. Woodward is to be marginalized and minimized. How dare he question our Lord and Savior?

Topic Pudding!
Posted 02 Mar 2013 03:46

First thing that comes to my mind is remembering as a teen going to an all-you-can-eat buffet and devouring massive quantities of their chocolate pudding. My frineds and I almost got kicked out of the place we ate so much.

Go Hawks best team in the NHL been a fan six 68/69 season..loved Keith Magnuson....

I remember going to my Grandmothers house for overnight visits when my parents went out of town. She didn't like many sports at all, except for hockey. She would make us some really good snacks for between periods and we would watch the Blackhawks play on WGN. This is during the era of Bobby Hull and Stan Makita. I especially liked Makita. He looked like the kind of guy that would have worked at a steel mill if it weren't for hockey.

Fond memories.

A girl from grade school that I had a crush on. She was cute, blonde, and had a terrific sense of humor.

Hawks Win! Hawks Win! Another day, another victory. Tonight the Hawks beat the St.Louis Blues 3 to 0. Tonight their record is 17-0-3. I know this streak has to end sometime, but I hope it isn't soon. 3601

She looks just fine to me. Some of these runway models look like anorexic drug addicts.

Topic The most weirdest/ bizarre place you've ever had sex in?!
Posted 26 Feb 2013 21:03

I worked in a Catholic all girls high school and we had a formal dinner-dance fund raiser each year. It was held in the gym/auditorium. After dinner the orchestra would play and dancing would ensue. Instead my (now ex) wife and I went up into the projection/lighting area above the gym/auditorium lobby (It's great to have a master key!) and skrewed like two rabbits in heat. It was such a rush to be "doing the deed" with over 200 people 10 feet below us. We got dressed and quietly rejoined the event. Best charity function I've ever been to.

Topic Hits and Misses of the Oscars for you?
Posted 25 Feb 2013 20:31

For me the best moment of the Oscars was Dame Shirley Bassey. At 76 years old she looked great and still can sing a mean "Goldfinger"! She's a class act that deserved the standing ovation she received.

Topic If you could only drink one type of beverage, what would it be?

Iced Tea, but not that Sweet Tea garbage. That stuff is sweet enought to put a normal human being into a diabetic coma.

Topic This is the funniest thing I have read in a long time!

God that was funny! I almost blew iced tea out my nose. I wonder if he has found his testacles yet? They will probably drop back down in a few days.

Topic Horror genre has been killed
Posted 23 Feb 2013 13:08

I don't care much for the whole genre currently. I loved the original Dracula book by Bram Stoker and the original Dracula movie from the 30's. I also think Christopher Lee was a pretty good Dracula too. Lee especially portrayed him as physically strong, smart, sexy, and creepy. Peter Cushing was a credible Van Helsing.

Topic Rihanna and Chris Brown
Posted 23 Feb 2013 12:44

Consider for a moment, if you were the one that snapped once or twice, and were violent towards the one you loved more than anyone in this world. Would you imagine yourself to be beyond salvation? Not worth loving and standing by, through troubled times? Does that one moment supercede the entirety of your shared connection?

It's just a thought (not a defense of Chris brown, per se, who appears by all accounts to be a stupid thuggish piece of shit).

As I said in my original post, if the above situation happened and the offender immediately realized the seriousness of it and sought psychiatric treatment, that would be a responsible start toward healing. To think that it would ONLY happen once and that you could control the anger is fantasy.

Topic Film of the year?

Lincoln and Skyfall. I do want to see Argo as it has an impressive cast. Les Miz? I won't waste my money on it. I can't stand musicals.

Topic What does your username mean?

Absolutely no meaning at all. It literally just popped into my head when I was signing on to Lush. With so many usernames and passwords you have to have in cyberspace, this one is very easy for me to remember.

Hawks Win! Hawks Win! They set a new NHL record for the best season start. 14 consecutive wins without a regulation time loss. Now it is 14-0-3. Sweet.

Topic What are you listening to right now?
Posted 22 Feb 2013 19:32

I'm enjoying a Cheap Trick concert on TV. They've done "I want you to want Me", "Surrender" and a few more. They have just started my favorite song of theirs - "Dream Police".

Topic Rihanna and Chris Brown

He'll beat her up again. You know it will happen again, and again, and again as long as she stays with him.

If there was a chance that he would get some serious psychiatric help it might change things, but I doubt he will seek it out.

Iced Tea
Bourbon on the rocks.
Bloody Mary made with Camato Juice with a beef jerky stick standing up in it.

BTW I agree with JohnC, I enjoy my "adult beverages" so much more now. If you're going to drink to get drunk, you can drink any kind of swill out there. Good liquor is meant to be consumed slowly, enjoying the taste and fine aroma of each different kind alcohol. Come to think of it I will go pour myself a glass of Johnny Walker Green Label on 2 ice cubes. Yum.
