About Dancing_Doll

I like to spin a dirty tale. From the sensual and playful to the explicit and hardcore, and all the sweet spots in between, my stories offer a little escape down the sexual rabbit hole.

When it comes to both writing and real life, I've always loved the play of hard and soft. Pretty things in ponytails on their knees, rough sex with bad boys and lots of dirty talk, sweaty bodies in a power exchange, unexpected hookups, flawed fidelity, plot twists and clean edges, and the highs and lows of falling for the wrong person at exactly the right moment. Those are some of the themes and influences you'll find in my stories.

Other than that - I'm actually pretty chill. If you have a fun vibe and don't take yourself too seriously, we'll get along. xx

WRITING: I’m currently published with Xcite Books and Lush Publishing under the name Ashleigh Lake. You can find my books on Amazon, Smashwords and Barnes & Noble. You can also visit my website www.ashleighlake.com for more details on me, my writing, how I got started, a few freebies and even some sex toy reviews.

My Current eBook Collection:

1. West Coast Games
This is a novella length series I posted on Lush during the spring of 2014, and then transitioned to eBook with the intention of following it up with a prequel from the opposite character's POV. It's a darker, heavier piece of erotica, exploring destructive relationships, obsessive love, jealousy and infidelity, rough sex, and all the head games and mindfucks played when it comes to the art of getting what you want at all costs. Set against the West Coast beach culture of restless surfer boys and tricky surfer girls, it's an intense yet addictive ride, with plenty of surprising twists along the way.

2. Toy Stories: Sensual Fantasies Inspired by LELO
This is a brand new collection of eight previously unpublished short stories (60K words of new content). Not just for solo play, this book also incorporates toys into stories with couples connecting in creative ways, unexpected encounters, phone sex, blindfolds and restraints, public teasing games, girl on girl, office affairs, steamy shower sex and a range of sensual fantasies written to tempt, titillate and inspire new ideas on how to spice up your sex life. This project was overseen by LELO throughout the stages of development and was published with their official consent. These stories won't appear anywhere online for free and are exclusive to the book.

3. The Bitches in the Basement
This is the full length novel version of the original The Bitches in the Basement short story. It has been reworked and completed at 50,000+ words. The three new full-length story chapters titled 'Cady's Story', 'The Aftermath' and 'Conclusion', will not be posted online and are exclusive to the book (over 30K words of new content).

4. Playing Dirty
This was my first official collection of erotica, with some of my best previously published stories, as well as several brand new ones that you won't find anywhere online (80K words total, with about 20K words of new content, along with some reworking of previous stories). These are all bundled together as a collection at a low and easy price point.

You can download these two titles, along with some shorter new-content singles and freebies by visiting the following websites or checking my profile album for more details.

FRIEND-ADDS: I don't typically do online chats and I'm not available for love, lust, real life hook-ups, cyber or anything that makes you think it might lead to that. If any of those things are on your wish-list, then I'm the wrong girl. Otherwise, if you're a writer, a reader, a fan or a just a regular, feel free to send me a friend-request or say hi.

COPYRIGHT NOTICE: Please be advised that I will, and have in the past, put in formal legal copyright claims (under section 1201 of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act) against plagiarizers and people who have stolen my stories and reposted them without my permission. I do regular checks on where my writing appears online through multiple copyright-checker sources and programs. You will show up and trust me, I will go after you. Topic: Sunblocks - which one?
Posted: 19 May 2018 07:03

I'd be interested in hearing if anyone has found a good product that works for extended periods of physical activity. I do a lot of cycling and find most products I have tried either bead along with sweat, block natural sweating (and therefore hamper the body's ability to cool) or break down too quickly in the heat.

Have you tried Sun Bum? Great products, with the owner/CEO coming from a pro surfing background.

I use this brand when running. It's mineral based, and I find it less prone to breaking down in the sun. This also has a water resistance rating (80 min).

The Sun Bum Signature lotion is SPF 50

Here's their claims:
- Ideal for everyday use by adults and children and formulated for even the most sensitive skin
- Broad Spectrum UVA/ UVB Protection, Water Resistant (80 Minutes)
- High Performance Premium Zinc Formula is Hypoallergenic, Vitamin E Enriched & Non-Migrating. Designed to not bleed into your eyes, make your hands slippery, or come off during the most rigorous activities in the water, wind, or blazing hot sun.
- We leave out the stuff that clogs pores or causes common allergies. Non-comedogenic, Paraben Free, Cruelty Free, Gluten Free, PABA free, Oil Free, & Oxybenzone Free.
- Our Signature line is used and trusted by many lifeguard and beach rescue organizations. Dermatologist tested. All Sun Bum Original sunscreens have been stringently tested, approved, and recommended. Trust the Bum.

And it comes in other SPF options, up to 70.

*Sun Bum also makes great hair care/protective products for summertime.*

I also like ThinkSport (SFP 50). It's rated as one of the very best on EWG, 20% Zinc, contains no bad stuff and works well.

enjoying this thread, thank you.

Anyone have suggestions for under eyes, i use Yves Saint Laurent Touch Eclat - Radiant Touch
but love some other suggestions, thanks.

Touch Eclat is very light coverage, but a really nice natural look, especially on no makeup days. I tend to use it more as a highlight/brightener otherwise.

For undereyes, I use NARS radiant creamy concealer in Creme Brulee. Sometimes for a bit of extra brightening if I haven't slept, I also use a little dab of Becca's undereye brightening corrector.

Over the past year or two, Tarte's Shape Tape has been super popular. It's very full coverage. I don't use it because I tend to go for lighter coverage products in general, but people rave and rave about it and it's definitely a major bestseller.

Anyone wanna help a girl out for somewhat cheap foundation suggestions for dry skin? I've always ended up cakey between my eyebrows and around my nose. Help!

*Edit: I'm also hella light skinned too, so..

This vid might be helpful. I always check youtube for reviews/swatches/impressions before buying any beauty product. Some channels are better than others, but the beauty community is a great resource.

In the vid below, L'Oreal True Match, Maybelline Fit Me and Bourjois Healthy Mix seem to be the best for dry skin.

Here's a great demo/review of the Maybelline Fit Me Dewy on very light skin with lots of swatches of their lightest shades:

And on the Maybelline Fit Me Matte:

I am living for this thread 🤗 As for me, I am more of a skincare enthusiast. I'm into all forms and products of skincare even some awesome korean skincare products. I'm pretty bad at makeup though. I love Too Faced, Nyx, Maybelline, Nars, Wet n Wild, Benefit, and Milani. Those are my most purchased from brands anyway. 🌹I saw someone post about Benefit Porefessional and as a girl who suffers from oily skin and large pores, that primer is a God-send.🌹
Milani has adorable blushes and bomb highlighters as well as Wet n Wild.
I'm about to invest in Nars sheer glow foundation though because it seems to be the only foundation line thats both pale and yellow enough for me.
If anyone here has a good suggestion for pale, yellow tone foundations, let ya girl know cause I'm struggling. Save a minion.

It depends on the level of coverage and finish you like in a foundation. I like the NARS Sheer glow and Hourglass Hyaluronic Skin Tint, but for a truly 'skin-like' glowy finish, I recently got hooked on Kevin Aucoin's Etherealist (after trying a sample). The shade range isn't particularly extensive though.

You might want to look into Fenty Beauty Pro Filt'r Soft Matte Longwear foundation. They have a huge array of colours and tones. Colour 130 is for 'fair skin with warm yellow undertones'. I haven't tried Fenty foundation but you have to like a matte finish. I did watch a few youtube vids when it first launched that said it wasn't ideal for dry skin and also some said it oxidized slightly , so get a sample at Sephora first to make sure it's right for your skin.

All in all, you can't go wrong with NARS though. :)

Oh, and yes - one of my fave beauty youtube channels is always raving about those Wet n Wild Mega Glow highlighters. I haven't tried them though because I have enough highlighters to live the rest of my life as the Tin Man, if I wanted to. :p

ps. re Korean Skin Care - I can't live without May Coop's Raw Sauce. They do have some great (unique) product lines.

I struggle with blush because I'm very fair. I really like my newest, which is Hourglass Ambient Lighting. It's pricey, but hard to over-apply.

Yes! I have a couple of the Hourglass blushes, and I agree - they are so easy to wear (I especially love Dim Infusion!). Hourglass is such a great brand. And their new setting powder is sooo good!

You would probably enjoy blushes like Benefit's Gold Rush too. It has a gold overspray but a few swirls of the brush and it's gone, and the main blush colour is a subtle rose gold/apricot - literally impossible to over apply, even with a heavy hand. Some people were complaining it was more of a blush topper because it's that subtle. Benefit's Dandelion would probably also be a good choice, if you don't already have it.

I also like cream products for sheer/natural colour on the cheeks, like the NARs multiples. I have a couple from the Charlotte Gainsbourg collection (colours - Alice and Jo) that are so sheer and easy to blend and just offer a bare hint of colour.

Blush is so easy to overdo - I will only play around with the stronger, pigmented ones when I have full natural light and then go in with a stipple brush or my trusty Sigma blush brush that somehow avoids picking up too much colour like a few of my other brushes that are more densely packed.

The Fenty Beauty Gloss Bomb is everything. I bought it when it came out last fall because... neutral/rose-gold glosses are my jam, but I didn't expect to love it (and use it) as much as I have.

I'm also going on my second tube of Marc Jacob's gloss in French Tickler. His glosses are legit fantastic (also, best/silkiest applicator ever).

My fave (recent) eye palettes are:
- the Anastasia Soft Glam palette as well as Modern Renaissance - super buttery and pigmented. Probably the nicest quality palettes I've ever used.
- Too Faced Peachy Mattes (I love my mattes)
- getting back into my Urban Decay Naked Heat, which I really enjoyed last summer
- I recently splurged on the Marc Jacob 'Fantascene' palette from the Coconut Fantasies collection. I love the Dew Drops Highlighter (last year's shade, the newer rose gold one is too dark for my skin tone), the coconut bronzer he brought back to add to this this collection is gorgeous.

Blush - These days, I'm keeping it pretty subtle with Benefit's Gold Rush, sometimes mixed with a touch of Milani's Luminoso. I'm also back into Bobbi Brown's bronzing/blush in Antigua which is a really natural tawny pink and so easy to wear.

Tatcha Skin Mist - finally tried it after being very reluctant because I wanted to believe it was just over-hyped, but it's actually really good. I'm trying to use it sparingly because it's so spendy for what it is.

Also - fave new'ish product - Charlotte Tilbury's Unisex Healthy Glow. Literally gives you Instagram filter skin with a tiny touch of colour/glow, though the product comes out white and almost slightly grainy (it contains little spheres of colour). It's sooo good. Especially for no-makeup days and summertime when you don't want to wear foundation or deal with matching up subtle changes in skin colour with your usual products. This would work on guys too, if you're into that kind of thing.

A great video demonstrating that even if your foundation/CC/BB/whatever contains SPF, you are *not* getting that level of protection from the sun.

While I don't depend on makeup for my sun protection, last year, I used a new chemical sunscreen and was frustrated that I was still 'tanning through' it.

This year, I'm doing all physical/mineral sunscreens (zinc or titanium dioxide based) and I'm liking the results so far. I'm rotating between four brands, but my favourites are the Drunk Elephant ones (I have the regular and the tinted 'Umbra'). They both have 20% zinc.

Here's a great overview on the pros and cons of chemical vs physical sunscreen, for anyone that's interested.

Topic: Which shampoo do you use??
Posted: 10 Apr 2018 05:30

Like you, I've experimented with many different brands - sometimes for the scent or price, although I've dabbled in expensive shampoos (don't feel like it makes much of a difference in quality, honestly). The type of hair products I use are always the most hydrating line/variation I can find, unless it's summer and I'm going with a salt spray for beachy waves.

My holy grail since high school is the Pantene Sleek & Smooth line. I always go back to this one. It's the only shampoo/conditioner that leaves my hair like absolute silk every time.

In recent years, I've also enjoyed the Garnier Coconut Water line (smells amazing, but for pure hydration, Pantene is still better). I've still bought this one for a change up more than once.

https://upload.lushstories.com/1255527765-Garnier Coconut.jpg

Post shampoo treatment is just as important as the type of shampoo for me.

The one I use before blow drying that I absolutely LOVE is the Drybar Prep Rally detangling spray. I've used many detanglers and leave in conditioners, but I can't live without this one. It doesn't weigh hair down but just takes my hair to another level.

And then... my fave finishing oil is the Aveda Light Elements Smoothing Fluid. I've been using this for at least ten years and it's perfect. At times I've used Bumble & Bumble Invisible Oil and Drybar's 100 Proof and they're very good, but I love how light the Aveda one is.

The city is lonely and my bedside table is in disarray. Cherry cola fizzes in a champagne flute. A ragged copy of Albert Camus’ The Fall holds a position of importance in place of a Bible. I’ve always thought relationships are a lot like seasons. They have their hot spells and eventual decline of life until things freeze over completely. Part of me was expecting that, even with Roxy.
