The Shallows (when it's released later this month).

It's probably going to be a stinker, but Blake Lively in a shark movie is something that I can't resist.

Topic Do men want women to shave their face?
Posted 10 Jun 2016 02:47

Unshaven legs and pits? I don't prefer them, but I don't hate them either. Hygiene is far more important, and that doesn't depend on hair removal, but on water and where appropriate, soap. As for pubes, I don't find genitals that look like those of my 7 year old daughter very appealing. I'd rather see some pubes, as a sign of sexual maturity. And that peach down is part of what gives a woman's skin that soft feminine look plus it makes a caress possible, that is softer than any hairless skin allows. So to answer the OP's question: If a lady has a moustache she doesn't want, by all means shave it. But please leave that peach fuzz where it belongs, I love it.

Maybe it's a generational or cultural thing. When I see a guy or girl that has shaved or waxed their pubes, I don't think of children or lack of sexual maturity.

Since when is the human body ugly by design? So much even, that people feel the need to alter it? Bleach your anus, enlarge your tits, and remove all of your hair. Trying to look like prepubescent Kens and Barbies. Why is that, I wonder. Some say hygiene, which imho is bullshit. If you regularly wash yourself, you're clean, if you don't, you're not, regardless of hair. It's that simple. Some say, it feels better. Does it really? It has become so fashionable, that many don't even know, how it feels with hair. They shaved everything before before they were ever touched. They'll never experience how soft a caress can be, if it just touches those tiny, amost invisible hairs, nature has enhanced your sensory sytem with. Because that's one of the things those hairs, in your face too, do. They enhance your senses, they make it possible to feel even the subtlest touch. I think that nature and evolution did an awesome job. The human body is beautiful. Maybe hairless Ken and Barbie are an example to many. To me they'll always be hairless, sexless and ageless dolls. I prefer real humans, ones that don't make me feel like a pedofile, when I look at their genitals.

So then I guess you also prefer unshaven legs and pits on women? I've heard some guys like that - the totally natural look, keeping the body exactly as it is, because it's 'beautiful by design' and they don't want it altered or changed. Hairy legs and pits would be hard for most Western women to get behind, but maybe some would go with it for a partner who was attracted to au natural legs, bush and lady-stache. I couldn't do it, personally, but everyone is into different things.

*** Waxing. Threading. Bleaching. Shaving ***

Women and Facial Hair

https://upload.lushstories.com/1885858493-shave.jpg

Face-shaving has become more and more popular in recent years. Or at least more women are admitting they do it. Marilyn Monroe, Elizabeth Taylor, Betty Paige and Cleopatra all did it. In Japan, it's called kao sori.

Whether you do it to remove the peach fuzz to make makeup go on smoother or to look better in photo closeups or you do it because genetics have predisposed you to growing a semi-beard, women are coming out of the closet on facial hair removal.

There is a technique called 'Dermaplaning' that is best done in the Derm's office that involves a blade scraped along the face that supposedly helps with exfoliation, cellular turnover and helps to keep skin more smooth and youthful. But still... what it mostly amounts to is a fancier version of 'shaving yo face.'

Do you do it? Do you use another method? And guys - as suggested by this youtube vid, are you turned off by a girl who has visible facial hair?

Spray-On Nailpolish

Is this the dumbest invention ever, or do you think this is going to catch on? dontknow

It looks so unnecessarily messy, a waste of product and I'll bet the fumes aren't too pretty either. Some people seem excited about it though.

As someone who can't wear perfume, I've often wanted to buy a particular brand just for the bottle. I love this one.😍

I know what you mean - I wanted the bottle before I wanted the perfume! (luckily, after first sniff, I loved the fragrance too)

ps. If you like the bottle, right now on Sephora online, they have a promo code called 'DAYANDNIGHT' - you can get a free mini bottle (.25 oz) with any $25 Sephora purchase online. I'm pretty sure the Miu Miu one is still available, but probably won't be for too long. It's really cute. I have the mini and the large size. It really is the prettiest bottle I've seen in a long while.

You can get what feels like a chemical burn or major skin irritation from some of these depilatory creams if your skin is sensitive or you leave it on for too long. The redness *should* go down after a few hours, but I'd recommend shaving or waxing over those creams. If you prefer the creams, try some different brands or those meant for sensitive skin (or the 'bikini line' area) and watch the clock to ensure you don't leave it on for too long.

All lies. She told me her favourite scent was a twenty-something personal trainer named Marcus.

I was like, "What? Wouldn't he be all sweaty?"

She just stared off dreamily into the distance.

Uh huh. The real fun is in the application. It's a rhythmic 'roll-on' kind of scent, finished with a lusty spurt (errr.. I mean spritz). Embarassed

I've been really liking this one for spring.

Herba Fresca from Guerlain's Aqua Allegoria line.

It's really refreshing and crisp - there's mint, citrus, clover... kind of smells like a mojito.

Topic Personal attacks in heated discussions. Acceptable, or not?
Posted 23 Apr 2016 08:54

I've tried to take up such an issue with the team. The answer I got was that insults and personal attacks were perfectly acceptable in the think tank. It's an adult swim after all. As if not being able to behave according to the rules is adult, and having a problem with that is not. Somehow, that's the world upside down. I accept that trolls exist and that I will meet them. It is unacceptable to me however, that those who are supposed to enforce the rules tell me, I should hide myself from them, because they think attacks and insults are okay. Blocking is a tool to protect against harassment, it should not be one to cover up violations of the rules.

As per the Site Owner, these are the rules:

https://www.lushstories.com/forum/yaf_postst48336_Find-someone-in-the-forums-annoying-BLOCK-THEM.aspx

https://upload.lushstories.com/1748715739-BlockThem.jpg

I work for her. I enforce the rules she sets. Thank you.

Topic Personal attacks in heated discussions. Acceptable, or not?
Posted 23 Apr 2016 07:53

Then why do we keep seeing the same members breaking the forum rules by launching personal attacks and insults, that ahave nothing to do with the topic at hand? And why is it, that resonding in kind sometimes gets you banned, without consequene for the starter of the row?

I'm not going to discuss specific members on public forums. Everyone gets dealt with in the same way - warnings, suspensions, forum bans or perma-bans etc. What one person deems a "personal attack" does not always = suspension or a lifetime ban. It would be a very different Lush landscape if that was the case.

I am unaware of anyone being 'banned' for replying to an insult here, in all my years on the site. Feel free to PM me to discuss, if you wish to get into specifics. As I said - we don't have a public court here where we hang people or sentence them to prison time in front of a large crowd and explain why. Things are done behind the scenes in order to respect the privacy of all parties involved.

I think one of the criteria to choose a moderator is their ability to jydge the validity of a complaint. And counteraction should be appropriate and above all effective. That doesn't mean a hatsh approach is the solution, but it should mean, that there should be a point, where it becomes clear, that harsh measures are the only option to stop a perpetrator. Recidivism should lead to increasingly tough measures. It does in the real world, it should here too.

We actually do take strong measures when they're warranted. They aren't publicly posted about in the forums, however.

That may be so but I'm not one of the trolls who initiates it. I never suggested a no tolerance policy. Everyone deserves at least one other chance. The point to my post was acceptance of habitual bullying by the same members over and over again. Not a one off sarcastic snipe.

That's what I'm talking about too, Trinket. Not 'one-ofs', but multiple complaints by multiple different members, sometimes over years. And without any obvious provocation. I stand by my original post. A lot of people here would go if we turned into that kind of site.

I refuse to discuss anyone's personal case histories on public forums, but reality is sobering and I'm sure many would be surprised.

Topic Personal attacks in heated discussions. Acceptable, or not?
Posted 23 Apr 2016 07:14

If the site took a no-tolerance policy or even a 'three strikes, you're out' stance regarding complaints from other users about feeling insulted, harassed or trolled by 'XYZ Lush Member' (*without having been provoked*), quite a lot of people would have been banned from this site. And ironically, many of them are the ones posting in this thread, now wishing this to be the policy.

Topic Best female characters?

My favourite is Roxy from West Coast Games. She's a free spirit, an unapologetic man-magnet and her motivations are unscrupulous in the best way possible. Many readers hated her, but I love the darker evolution of her character. There's some inner conflict there that gives her some dimension, complexity and heart.

The runner-up for fave female character would be Cady Lane from my eBook, The Bitches in the Basement. She's a sexpot and a bad girl and a little more blatant and extreme than Roxy. She makes blackmail look like fun.

It'll be a lesbian. it's always a lesbian... hi Doll! hello2

There are no lesbians in this particular batter's lineup. There's a gay guy, but I'm pretty sure he'll be safe.

While I know lesbians don't seem to last long on this show, I'm more concerned about the demise of all the blondes.
