Fantasy & Sci-Fi

This month | Last Month | All Time

Science fiction is a re-imagining of ideas and technologies that we haven't seen yet, but still fit within our understanding of the universe. Themes can include space travel, time travel, robots, cyborgs, cyberpunk, parallel realities, etc.

The fantasy genre does not necessarily have any grounding in reality, and is more concerned with magic and myth. This can encompass everything from historical Arthurian tales of court intrigue, to epic battles for empires and crusades against the forces of darkness.

Time Assassin

She started to feel stirrings deep within her that she had not felt for a long, long time.

April 30, 1863 was like any spring day in the Spotsylvania Wilderness for Emma Harris, who was struggling to survive alone in the wild tangle of trees and thickets of northern Virginia. She had expected life in the wilderness to be difficult, but she had not expected to be facing it alone. She and her husband John, had moved here five years earlier to begin their new life together as farmers. ...Read On

Time Assassin: Palm Beach

He scooped up the beautiful heiress and carried her up the ornate staircase...

Mathew L. Gaffey turned the wheel of his new 1960 Cadillac Eldorado convertible off the South County Road. He drove down the driveway to The Breakers Palm Beach Resort and up to the valet desk. As the staff opened the door to the sparkling red machine, Gaffey nonchalantly flipped the keys to the valet as he simply said, “Gaffey.”     Gaffey confidently strolled through the lobby wearing...Read On

Time Assassin: Shanghai Red

Both girls stood naked, smiling, in front of him.

The young naval lieutenant pushed open the red swinging doors to Shanghai Red’s, San Pedro’s most notorious bar of the thirties. Calling Shanghai Red’s the most notorious bar on Beacon Street was saying something on a waterfront street swarming with the likes of the Scuttle Butt Inn, Whispering Joe’s Joint, and the Bonanza. These were all classy dumps in a neighborhood of flophouses, bail...Read On

Welcome To Angel Falls

When the morning after is a lifetime away.

“Okay, he’s awake.” Those three words reverberated around the inside of his skull like it had been hollowed out with a blunt instrument, possibly a large serving spoon. He recognised them, he understood their meaning, but was unable to string them together to grasp the context. A dull ache behind his eyes blossomed into a bright white pain as he gradually eased into consciousness. A blurry...Read On

Alien to Pleasure

Careful, objects in the mirror may be less human than they appear...

SEVEN DAYS AGO: Zilla ~   The force of impact jolted her against the forcefield holding her to the seat. "Ooooofff!" The images on the screen were roiling clouds of dust showing the world outside her craft.  Eyeing her new environment with eagerness, she rolled her eyes and the lit beams that banded her to the seat disappeared.  The dust was clearing now and she stared at the...Read On

The Survivor ch 2: Myra's Song

There comes a point when mere survival isn't enough

Part 1: The Hunt Myra crept through the thick brush one careful step at a time. Rain had recently fallen and the slope she was descending was as slippery as it was steep. She was all too aware that one wrong step would send her sliding down to the bottom of the gully and give her presence away. Reaching a tree about halfway down the slope, she leaned against it and held her...Read On

If We Break Before the Dawn

I took the old road, looking down from the high cliffs at the tide as it rolled in. Night was falling, swallowing everything, devouring hearth and home; everything and everyone I loved. In the distance I could hear the sound of static, growing louder with every passing moment. Early warnings of what was to come. Pausing, I turned slowly, looking for the sun, trying to pin down a compass point...Read On

The Survivor ch 3: Be On The Look Out

A non-erotic continuation of Myra in the Survivor series.

"A Nation is not conquered until the hearts of its women are on the ground.  Then it is done, no matter how brave its warriors nor how strong its weapons." -Death Song of the Cheyenne Nation Part 1 Be On the Look Out. Bo awoke with a throbbing headache. It was a pounding, stabbing pain that felt as if someone was trying to jackhammer their way out of his...Read On

Butterfly Beach I : The Wreck of the Golden Dove or the Consequences of Unfamiliar Fruit.

Victorian Explorers are shipwrecked on an uncharted island.

From the Journal of Olivia Delacroix - First entry. It’s been nearly twenty-one days since The Golden Dove was blown off course by a truly malevolent storm. Had it not been for the peerless bravery of our good Captain Harrington and the courageous Lieutenant Littlefield, we most certainly would have been lost at sea somewhere over the Pacific Ocean. Though having lost our glorious airship...Read On

The Inheritance

A family curse isn't always a burden

I am a farmer of fertile Kansas fields, considered by most to be a kind man with a welcoming smile. A pillar of the small farming community I call home, an elder at my church, and decent enough looking that women have commented on it over the years, particularly my blue eyes, which contrast with my weathered skin, I guess. I always choose my words carefully with men and women alike, and I like...Read On

Pieces of Candy

She's always had a desire to be pleasured by the most intimate toy ever...

The wireless network downloading the codes managing her internal simulators began to sync, pleasantly warming the sim card in the small compartment tucked behind Candice's ear. The routine was nothing new to her and was a significant step towards preparing for her next guest. 'How very odd,' she thought as she assimilated the digital instructions. The idea of being changed by the...Read On

Working late opens the door to much more than she bargained

Her slender fingers hovered above the Enter key, wanting to do it and not at the same time. Despite the air-con, a bead of sweat made itself known beneath her plain blouse. The Survivor ch 4: Redemption

There was only a hint of a breeze that evening. It was a cold, fresh smelling movement in the air that carried away the growing fatigue Myra felt since that night at the quarry lake. It wasn't that she was physically tired, far from it actually. The room she shared with Bo at the militia's compound was almost as comfortable as a barrack as it was a suite when the building was still a...Read On

The World Ends With A Whimper

One man's life on the precipice takes a new turn.

All around me, the grimy, cracking walls echoed with the deafening snarl of pistons. Burning rubber kicked up a storm of gravel that ricocheted all around like gunfire. I pressed myself deep into the darkest corner of the bridge arch and curled up as small as I could. I admit it wasn’t my most courageous or heroic moment, but I’ve learned to do whatever it takes to survive. I had no plans...Read On

Passion

My apologies to Hans Christian Andersen and Looking Glass

Zee walked into the bar like she owned it. Like she owned it and wanted to burn it down. She strode over to the pretty, green-eyed bartender without acknowledging the five men gawking at her. "Where is she?" Zee demanded. "You know, if you gave me your cell phone number I could call you when she comes in," said the bartender. Zee usually liked the tease in her voice but tonight, she was...Read On

She was extraordinary! She was special. She was the type of woman that attracted everyone’s attention when she walked into a room. I knew a beautiful woman when I saw one. The sacred rite of Litha

“Women spin your circle right, weave the web of dark and light…” The chant of the women rose higher and higher as they were dancing around a roaring fire deep inside a dark forest. Butterfly Beach XI: Summer or The Sharing of Tongues

Spring passed quickly and summer arrived, bringing with it a longing that drew me more and more to the surface and daylight.  With each passing day I felt more and more restless, the need to see the open sky overcoming my desire for Isshu, strong as that was.  Had he been able to stand the almost sweltering heat, I would have enjoyed his company here in a world that was more to my tastes. ...Read On

Monster

I create a Monster

I have created a Monster- not in the Doctor Frankenstein sense, no scalpel involved, no body parts obtained by nefarious means- but I have created one, nonetheless. Molded with word and deed alone.
