A pair of explosions rocked the finish line at the Boston Marathon this afternoon, injuring 176 people and killing three. My prayers and thoughts go out to the victims and families affected by today’s explosions at the Boston Marathon.

"A third explosion, which police say may be related, ripped through the JFK Library. No one was injured." From NPR.

Another sad example of peoples lack of empathy. To the bombers, we aren't really people. They don't see us as being like them.

We're a species of killer apes who managed to invent technology to make murder as easy as peeling bananas. Unless we evolve socially as well as technologically, we're doomed.

I saw this come over the news wire a few hours ago. It's terrible that this took place. As a person who has lived through terrorism in Ireland with car bombs and such as a young boy, it pains me to see that this act of cowardice still goes on.

Chivalry is the only "wingman" you need.

Boston. Fucking horrible.

I remember, when 9/11 went down, my reaction was, "Well, I've had it with humanity."

But I was wrong. I don't know what's going to be revealed to be behind all of this mayhem. One human insect or a poisonous mass of broken sociopaths.

But here's what I DO know. If it's one person or a HUNDRED people, that number is not even a fraction of a fraction of a fraction of a percent of the population on this planet. You watch the videos of the carnage and there are people running TOWARDS the destruction to help out. (Thanks FAKE Gallery founder and owner Paul Kozlowski for pointing this out to me). This is a giant planet and we're lucky to live on it but there are prices and penalties incurred for the daily miracle of existence. One of them is, every once in awhile, the wiring of a tiny sliver of the species gets snarled and they're pointed towards darkness.

But the vast majority stands against that darkness and, like white blood cells attacking a virus, they dilute and weaken and eventually wash away the evil doers and, more importantly, the damage they wreak. This is beyond religion or creed or nation. We would not be here if humanity were inherently evil. We'd have eaten ourselves alive long ago.

So when you spot violence, or bigotry, or intolerance or fear or just garden-variety misogyny, hatred or ignorance, just look it in the eye and think, "The good outnumber you, and we always will."

Not for the faint of heart - Deadspin.com has it all covered.

The good are many and legion.

It’s an iconic image that captures a moment when one Boston Marathon bystander became much more.

With blood-soaked hands and wearing a cowboy hat, Carlos Arredondo helps rush a young man in a wheelchair to safety after explosions turned Monday’s race into a disaster scene.

He appears to be pinching closed a severed artery protruding from the victim’s thigh, stanching the flow of blood from a torn and shattered leg.

"I kept talking to him. I kept saying, 'Stay with me, stay with me,'" Arredondo told the Portland, Maine, Press Herald.

This toned, tanned, aerobically keen individual genuinely fits right in...amongst the marathon admirers and fanatics doesn't he?

He only stands out like a red - white & blue genital wart.

I hate to jump to conclusions or paint with a broad brush, but WhatTheFuckSeriously
