I try to finish the story and then post it in parts. My series or episode stories are purposely left that way. It's just a matter of preference, but I find if a reader enjoys your story, they'll seek out the other parts.

Doll, perhaps every two days I'd guess. Just don't make them a week apart, I think your fan base wouldn't like that.

Oh - I don't think I could wait to do them a week apart anyway. I'm actually getting an itchy publish n' submit finger. I've been working on this one for months. :)

Guilty as charged for my most recent story. I had the second part all mapped out and got 1,200 words in too. Truth was, it was shite and I had writer's bloc in terms of a decent story and how to end it too. It took a couple of months but got there in the end.

The really odd thing is, I have a storyline for a whole new story but couldn't finish this one. It was all very odd and it's never happened to me before.

35+ stories to my name now and still enjoying writing them as if it was my first......

Latest Stories:

Wild Hibiscus: Sent to France in disgrace, Jack falls for the beguiling Brigitte and her unconventional sexual desires. Discovering their mutual passion for the alternative, they experience it together for the first time.

Same here. I have a few series mapped out completely but when I actually get down to writing them? Shite-tastic storm of crap.

I tried writing a few chapters before I post but I always got impatient. I'm still figuring out a tactic that works for me. I feel bad leaving people hanging.

I write, in hopes, that you will be satisfied with each story on its own. I want to have a beginning, middle, end and leaving the end to a possible sequel.
If the story is a cliffhanger then to have to wait months, I'd lose interest for sure, unless the story before was recapped in the next one.
I hope I'm meeting my objective with my stories.

Not really. If the story is a good one and I remember what it was about then I will be happy to read the continuation. If too long of a period of time passes by then I may not remember much about the previous parts. Then most likely I would not be anxious to continue reading

If the author put a recap of what happened before at the beginning of the continuation that would make it easier for me to get back into the story.

I have to say that's where I am with my "Bella Gets Painted" trilogy. I know exactly where I want to go with the third and final chapter, but at the same time, life has gotten in the way. That and I have to be in a certain mood to write BDSM, which is what "Painted" is, a BDSM story. Right now, I'm also working an on-going story that I see going for a while, my new series "All in Time".

I'll readily admit I'm seeing 1-3 months between each chapter, but I'm also a single mother who works a full time job as a supervisor. And, any working stiffs out there know that when you're short-staffed at work (as we are now), that the supervisors and managers have to step into fill the gaps.

I've been hoping that the people who loved "Time" weren't upset with me, really.

It's something I'm working on. In fact, "All in Time, part three" was verified yesterday, and I've already got a few hundred words started on part four. Yay, me!

YOU were one of the reasons I started this thread! Well it gave me an excuse to read the first part again, lol. At least Part 2 didn't disappoint.
Since I posted the op, purely as a reader' I have written stories myself. A two parter that became three, when I got cocky! Part 1 was well received and Part 2 was even better. Part 3, however, I did struggle with and, because of this thread, I forced it. I wish I had taken more time and got it to Part 2's standard. It's almost where I wanted it to be but not quite.

This is an interesting thread. I have a series jumping categories, but I'm careful to link the installments in sequential order.

I am? Oh crikey.

Well I am glad you did like the second part. I was a complete nightmare to finish and make it credible enough. It is the last part as it was designed to be a short (ish) story.

As for leaving a big gaps between chapters, it wasn't intentional - it just kinda happened like that. Writer's bloc is a bitch, I find it's better just to let it take its course. You'll be amazed when an idea might pop into your head to finish a story.

To answer the OP directly No.

When I do sequels, I set out to do them and I normally write them fairly quickly.

My current series involving Judy Morris and Matt Baker will run to four parts. I have to admit that I was incredibly turned on when writing my latest instalment. So much so I had to relieve myself when I had finished writing that part. I know what's coming too and that just made me even hotter.

I really hope people find this as hot as I do. The idea of an older woman using a teenaged jock as her toy is soooo erotic. It makes me properly horny! Embarassed

It just makes me curious dontknow and I don't mind waiting, for the sequel 'd be more interesting ... something spicey love10

It doesn't bug me if the author has left early without completing a story, because it's his story and who knows what he's going through while writing! If there's a sequel, it's a happy news occasion5 and if not, so what ... I have other stories to read hello1
