But the better team doesn't always win so we'll see.

Here's a funny animated gif concerning tonight's game: http://www.dumpert.nl/mediabase/1029761/fdc62dda/schade_deutschland.html

I'm thinking that its going to be tough for Holland as well but I couldn't bet on Spain the payout is to shitty.

I didn't get to watch the Germany Vs. Spain game, but I see it wasn't a goal-fest.

It proves my predictions suck.

The final is just too close to call.

I only know I'll be watching the Bundesliga in the Fall. thumbup

Hahaha I like how he walked all around the pitch and down the middle and around the goals. I thought he was going to passout by the end.

Remember when I said I had a real problem with the new soccer ball?

Here's why:

Hubby and I both have a tiny bit of Dutch in our ancestry, so we'll be cheering on the Orange! He even got me a pair of skimpy orange shorts to wear during the game! Now if I can just get a set of wings by Sunday...

Anyone gonna watch tonight's game? I think the Germans are too disappointed to put up a good fight. Uruguay will take 3rd place.

That's a bold prediction but it's a good theory. I still think Germany will take third though.

Germany 3 - Uruguay 2

Germany takes the bronze. (Sorry Painter - may your hope for the Oranges be more correct!)

Whatta Game!!!

Forlan was outstanding! (well, so were many of the players!)

Looking forward to the Final Game tomorrow!

Thanks folks, will be watching the game outside with lots of other people. hello1

Germany won because the Uruguay goalie was horrible. The first 2 German goals are his fault. Oh well, pretty fun game.

What a Game!!

That was some hard fought battle!!

Congratulations to both teams for their tenacity.

And of course, to the winners ~ Spain!

(I guess my
orange undies were not very lucky for the Netherlands ....)

I can't believe Robben missed that chance where he was one on one with casillas. Spain finally doesn't choke at the world cup. Good goal from iniesta.

I gave Spain the edge in my prediction, but it was a rather dull game, IMHO. I think the Spaniards controlled most of it, too.

Now my problem is I have to go two months without soccer!

I'm looking forward to the start of the season and hoping Juventus gets their $#%%^ in gear.

Congrats to Spain- I watched the game and they seemed to have the upper hand, at least to my untrained eye. I know both teams get rough sometimes, but it also seemed like the Netherlands thugged it up some. I saw one guy cleat another in the chest, but didn't get kicked out- by now I understand that the refereeing is for shit generally in soccer, but I guess that happens when there's only three on a giant field with no instant replay and they spend an hour and a half running non-stop. They are bound to miss some things in that case.

Anyway, they said on TV that neither team had ever won before, so congratulations to Spain for popping their world cup cherry! Better luck to the orange-dudes in four years. I hope Paintman's not passed out in a ditch somewhere. :(

Copa America is coming up in a year or less too Rocco to get your do or die international soccer fix. It's all the southies plus mexico and USA as invited guest teams. It's the second most important tournament along with the euro right behind the world cup. Mexico got third last copa but with Paraguay, chile, and uraguay turning into badasses I doubt they'll repeat third place.

Before game started I was totaly for Spain team , however more I was watching the game more disapointed I become and now I really think that they didn't deserve to become champions of 2010 in my humble opinion of course.
It was rather disapointed game to watch, both teams played quite like Italians play -bunker style.

Still hungover but oh well. crybaby crybaby

Congrats to Spain and I'm still proud that we made it to the final.
The deep-fried octopus I had today did help relieve the hangover a bit. I wonder where it came from. evil4

Thanks for that good tip, Felix. I'll definitely have something to watch now.

I'm sorry your team didn't win, Painter. At least they made it to the finals and got second place, which is quite an accomplishment.

Did you see that Octopus Oracle got 100% on his predictions? How long do those things live? Will he make it to the next World Cup?

That's been cracking me up. I don't think he wants to talk about it...

I only had 50 bucks and a bottle of casadores tequila on it and I'm still cursing Robben for not scoring on that great chance he had. Painter must have been seriously depressed after the loss. I know I would have been if Mexico finished second.
