Unlike Justine and Fritzies, I've never found that I have the characteristics of my birth-sign. I've told people when I was born and they've returned a "Oh so you must be , [this] and [this] and [this].", to which I've always laughed and told them they should get to know me first because that shit is way off. Nutbag

I really doubt these changes will make a difference in that. I didn't actually take the time to read the attached article, but the question is: If Astrology is so accurate, as people claim it to be, why are they changing it?

The reviews are in. Here's what people are saying about FicklePickleTickle:
"BestCukeOnTheVine" - LusciousLola.
"Pickle juice rocks!" - curiousbutterfly.
"Pickles is really a jalapeño" - sw33tang3l
"Will someone make that guy sit down, my kids can't see the movie?!?" - Some guy in at the theater.
"Shouldn't he be wearing clothes if he's going to be in the wedding?" - Your mom.
"If FTP Eats A Pickle, Is That Cannibalism? " Nikki703
"FTP makes me wet. . ." - imhapless.
"Always thought he was dill but he's actually a sweet pickle." - kinkygirl.

the pickle has a point:p

they cant expect people to actually accept these changes, because we grew up with it. I was born a scorpio, so i will always be a scorpio. those at the all the generatiosn up to january.1.2011 will have the same understanding of what there sign is. there are going to go based on the facts that have dated back a long time ago. These zodiac changes, if they really do exist, will more so apply to later generations, 2011- and onwards, because we have grown up learning what our sign was, reading our horoscopes, because thats what we were born as, one of the 12 zodiac signs. So i don't think that these zodiac changes will have much affect to the generations from 2010 and downward, just because we grew up with it, and no one is going to want to change there sign. Because i personally know i am a scorpio, it is like my horoscope everyday is written for me.

Nothing changed for me. Not that it would even if this new system switched my sign.

Oh, probably not- but I don't think its a big deal either way. There are topics in here that make me yawn too- so to each his own.

Maybe it will get a few more to wander in.

I guess this boils down to: do you put any meaning into Astrology? If I did, I could imagine this being upsetting, and sparking a debate on which is correct: the legacy of having been one 'sign' all your life, or the astrologically correct sign per this correction?

I've never really given much credibility to the zodiac, other than for random entertainment purposes.
But, apparently there are two zodiac systems, so depending on which one you prefer to follow, your zodiac sign may or may not have changed.
Given that there are two types, this seems to suggest that (like religion), this is total bullshit. Either way, I'm sticking to the original, and maintaining my Aquarius status. I just feel sorry for whoever got stuck with the new zodiac sign "Ophiuchus"... it sounds like a fungus.

Zodiac Change wrote:
However, Tarot.com astrologer Jeff Jawer said in an interview with CNN that astrology fans need not worry because there are actually two types of zodiacs: the tropical zodiac, which Western astrology adheres to and is fixed to seasons; and the sidereal zodiac, which is fixed to constellations and is followed more in the East.

The "changes", he said, apply to the sidereal zodiac.

Jawer added that the alignments with constellations indeed changed compared to years ago, but this change is irrelevant for the tropical zodiac, which was codified for Western astrology by Ptolemy in the second century.

"When we look at the astrology used in the Western World, the seasonally based astrology has not changed [and] was never oriented to the constellations," he said in the CNN interview, adding he personally adheres to the tropical zodiac.

Ya know, what else is next...ffs.

My mom was a Cancer, I'm a Leo...we were like oil and water; fire and ice; black and white. I don't hold a lot of stock in horoscopes per se, but I do find that some of the characteristics of my sign do hold true. So, if this comes to pass then I'll be a Cancer...yipee. lol It's neither here nor there for me really.

It's just the point that things that have been a set way for eons, all of a sudden are being fucked with and changed up. Not cool in my book.

First they decide Pluto is no longer justifiable to be named one of the planets in our solar system because of it's teeny tiny size in comparison to the rest. Then there's the recent debacle with a classic novel being 'sanitized' for political correctness, which personally, pisses me off. You did good Mark Twain :).

Who gets together and ultimately gets to decide these things?? For crying out loud.

/end rant. I'm going to listen to some more good tunes, always makes my day go well :). There's one thing they can't screw with, my choice in music!!

So, I am fungus now?? laughing9 too funny

..but the funniest thing is that one quiz in Pub section, I believe it was called The animal in you, was more right about me as person than the rest of Jyotis or western astrology that I attempt to understand (women in my family draged me around to get my personal astrology card..they are a bit too much into this..)

What does that really say I have no clue, was I lucky with giving the answers or astrology as science is on shaky ground or I was visiting really unprofessional ones..

I don't put too much meaning into it but I do follow it and grew up with it. My mom and others are really into it very much. Its a different zodiac system than this one though. I goes by year instead of dividing into 12 per year. So I am glad that the system we follow didn't change or everyone in my family would totally freak! confused1

I really hate to burst this bubble, but this entire topic is pretty much useless.....

Your astrological sign CANNOT "change". These discoveries only matter if you were born after 2009. "but why?" you ask. It is because astrology has to do with what stars were in certain places WHEN YOU WERE BORN. So unless you want to base your Zodiac sign on a year and month and date, other than when you were born, this has absolutely no bearing on anyone on this site.

Lol, thats your problem with this topic? Not that astrology isn't worth the paper it is printed on, but the changes that were made to it after 2009?

Who am I to say what someone does/doesn't believe in has more merit than what I believe in? So in short to answer your question, yes.

That's a great point, Brossela. It's just for people born this past year and forward.

I agree, Fritzies. I think it's funny how 200 threads on religion, morals, and politics are handled pretty well (considering), yet a thread about astrology gets two people to complain about it's presence.

Posting just to say it's not interesting enough? YAWN

And yet you found some use in posting on it. One man's trash is another man's treasure. Obviously a bit of an exaggerated analogy, but I'm too tired to think of anything else.
