Jane Austen because I'd love to try and spend an hour or so inside her mind
Ian Dury because I wish I'd been able to see him live

Honestly, it would probably be a tie between President Nixon and Kennedy. The in the other seat (with as much as I'm about to bring up in hatred. I think I'd have to invite Adolf Hitler. Simply because I have studied him a lot in school and would love to pick his brain. All of their brains actually. Just sayin.

"Do you want to live to work or work to live"

"All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing"

"Always hold you head up high, never come off weak"

For me the choice is easy. I'll invite Lionardo da Vinci and August Strindberg! They are two giants of cultural history, maybe the greatest. My choice might be influenced by the fact that I study Art and Literature, and thus have been familiar with their greatness. And they have something in common; both of them have great talents in so many fields!

If we had Thanksgiving in the UK, I'd invite Joseph Ducreux. Why? Because he seems cool and eccentric, that's why.

Etta James because she is my favorite singer of all and I was able to see her in concert a couple of times and Francis of Assisi, maybe, as he was the patron saint of animals.

Well, Cole Younger and Doc Holiday were on their way to my house last Thanksgiving when they got sidetracked sticking up an armored car. Y'all may have seen that police chase on TV's World's Wildest Police Chases. I am happy to report that they got away.

So at the last minute I invited Cleopatra and Delilah. Whoa Damn! The show they both put on using turkey legs was mind boggling. I must say, that's one way to baste a turkey. I asked them to come back over for my St. Patrick's Day Party but they said they spend every St. Patrick's Day with Lush's Stephanie. They both like to score some authentic Irish.

I'd tell my family to take a hike because I want to enjoy a family holiday for once.
I could sit back, drink wine, laugh 'til I cried and watch the dinner table fireworks with Leonard Nimoy.

My seating chart would go something like this:

Joan Rivers and George Carlin
Carol Burnett and and Robin Williams
Katherine Hepburn and Mitch Hedberg
Bea Arthur and George Burns

Why? For the laughs, the company and the bloodshed after Joan and George C. tried to kill each other. evil4

Sergei Rachmaninoff. Okay, I am a nerd! He is my favorite composer and I would love to hear him play one of his concertos. They are so sensual, much more than Ravel's Bolero made famous in the movie 10 with Bo Derek.

I like your choice. But Ravel would be an excellent choice too, but not the Bolero that everybody knows because the girl with the pretty tits.
Try to invite your lover and dance with her/him while Michelangeli playes Ravel's convert in G (adagio assai) - like someone said before - "one of the most touching songs coming from the human heart".

I like That piece, and I think Michelangeli is one of the greatest pianists ever. However, I think most Rachmaninoff works are more passionate. I am biased, because he is my favorite composer.

A colloquium of Roman poets, I think. The first two definitely knew each other well.

Horace
Virgil
Catullus
Ovid

It would be traditional Roman dinner party, too.

Enough with the greatest hits collection. Time for a new story!

Planning for next years T day...

First, I'd invite a certain dickhead-arsehole who says evil things - one step onto my property and I'll take care of him properly :)

As for those I'd like to join the feast...

My 3 grandparent who I never met - they died before I was born - be nice to get to know them
My middle school math teacher - to thank him for how helpful he was - i didn't realize it until much later long after he passed
The entire casts Caddyshack, Animal House, Godfather I+II, Old School and Shawshank Redemtion - just because I think it would be one hell of a party lol

And finally a certain sexy Brit woman who I adore to no end - her presence would make it the most thankful thing ever

Great ideas as usual... fuck yes - Muse and AC/DC are added to the list and will play throughout the feast

Beef was already on the menu for you - as is bacon in every form

Invites also included a warning that if anyone shows up with cream cheese brownies they will be immediately shown the door :)

Doc Holiday - The Peace maker
Wyatt Earp - The Policeman who brings the drinks
