I think to arrive at an appropriate reply to this question, I may have to look at the people in my life, knowledge I have gained and of course use common sense.... laughing6
Ok here is what I could gather:
Dad said, "Be kind to others" and Mum said, "Don't be a bad girl"
However, sometime back I heard Maya Angelou said these words on TV which I think outlines the meanings of life so clearly.....
'You shouldn’t go through life with a catcher's mitt on both hands; you need to be able to throw some things back...'
and
'People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.'

For me the following quote says it all. This has been the quote I have listened to my whole life. No matter what path a person follows, what gender they love or marry, what they do with their intelligence, how they choose to life their life, happiness is the end goal. When we lay our head on our pillows at night, happiness is the feeling we all desire. It makes life worth living.
