I remember our first TV. It was a 1950 Majestic and I was 8 years old. There was 2 stations in Grand Island, New York. One in Buffallo and one in London, Canada. My step father was head inspector at Bell Aircraft and he had to install special antenna to get the London station.

I remember our telephone number from 1948 on Grand Island. It was BR(ridge)3063. That was because it was only for the island.

I remember watching Goegeous George wrestle, the Howdy Doody show, I met Buffallo Bob several times. His nephew lived across the street from me and he'd bring Howdy and others to parties. I met John Glen because he was at the Bell plant when I went there with my step father. I got to ride an early jet aircraft ejection seat there too.

God, I am an old fart.

I am always a gentleman.

I remember when my first real girl friend and I fell in love. We did so many beautiful things together. The memory is still sweet and I still love her more than anyone I've loved since. That's what I remember. :)

America will never be destroyed from the outside. If we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves. [President Abraham Lincoln]

I crave so much more than a physical connection. I crave your words and depth. I crave who you are and where you came from, your desires and fears. I yearn to know every inch of you beyond the surface.

I don't remember a time...

When everything was simple, not complicated.
When everything was easy, not hard.
When there was truth, not lies.
When there was love, not hate.
When there was peace, not war.
When it was give, not take.
When it was then, not now.

I remember when ...

people actually wrote letters and sent them in the mail. That excitement of checking the mailbox and finding that long-awaited response from my penpal.

kids played outside and didn't have to worry about getting shot, or witnessing a drug deal.

having a new box of Crayons made you the shit in school.

I had an NES, an SNES and I was friggin' happy to play Super Mario Bros and Duck Hunt when my parents would let me.

I remember when petrol was 4/6d a GALLON. That's four shillings and sixpence old money, 22.5 pence today. My first car cost me £100 second (or even third or fourth) hand. Mind you, my wages were about £20 per week. One of the biggest cons was pricing petrol in litres instead of gallons. It comes out at pretty near £6 per gallon now!

;when it was as simple as saying I love you; before the misunderstandings led to needless distrust.

Thanks Margot.

I remember when kids could play in the streets, or walk home alone. I remember when kids were not constantly monitored through the use of cell phones, and Facebook. When you could just show up on a friend's doorstep and that wasn't considered impolite. I remember when we let children learn, and grow on their own, without parents hovering near by.

I also remember when kinder surprise had way cooler toys ;)

I remember when "Going to the movies" was still called "Going to the pictures"; when a cookie was still called a biscuit; when a Trojan was still just a warrior; when being gay was just being happy - which in a lot of cases I guess it still could be, and when a fag was just a cigarette. ( Might just be Australia ?)

I remember when I ate this one particular blueberry muffin. Fuck, it was delicious.

All warm, and fluffy, and it smelt divine!
