Don't over-complicate the answer to this question... I would think the majority do it to gain chats with females who would otherwise reject them. Guys must outnumber gals by a large margin on Lush (look at the typical ratio on 'Members currently logged in'). This means that each actual female gets bombarded with mountains of requests.

Never been tempted to do it as I see no point in being someone I'm not - patience and a bit of politeness is usually rewarded with friendship and occasionally a lot of fun;) Maybe I've hit on guys posing as females, but I'm realistic and know that the internet is a perfect place for half truths, no truth and full-on deception.

Had to laugh at Dancing_Doll's first post on this topic - 'In fantasy land an orgasm is an orgasm'!! lol

Learning, laughing, making friends and having fun! Feel free to message - v open-minded, love friendship and / or 'fun' :)

I have read some intriguing replies and theories why men want to pose as women... I am not so sure the explanations are so simple.. I can accept the theory that it gives them more women friends..

OTH I am also annoyed ny the so called females.. allegedly attractive and highly sexed.. discrediting all males and refusing to accept any friendship requests.. it is somehow negates the entire reason for joining a group like Lush.. i am a male and unushamedly horney all the time and want as many friends...( females) as possible, and who knows, I might click with one.... Hope never dies...
and i am sincere and honest.. single, well spoken, hopefuly witty,(collegiate humour) well mannered, educated, and articulate etc etc .. i would never pose as some one who I am not...
I suppose another brick in the wall which is known as the battle of sexes...

To be upfront here..I am a transgender woman. I was born male became female thru surgery, now regard myself as female. That being said to my point. There are a lot of men who for one reason or another. Some are simply lonely, maybe a few are pre-op transgender and simply exploring their female side as sort of a prep. Many may be stopped from coming out as they truly believe themselves to be then there are the simple voyeurs and pervs. The men here all have one thing in common if they choose to put themselves on here as female...the grass always appears greener on the other side of the fence. Those are just a few possibilities. And remember after all we are all just pixels here and the pixels can be whatever we choose to make them.

I totally agree. It's easy to do a superficial job of faking the opposite gender but it becomes more transparent the more the person talks and communicates. Regardless of what you put on a profile, everyone has a certain 'vibe' as a human being that's difficult to fake over the longterm. There's certain nuances and subtleties of both genders that tend to give things away.

this is a great question, but i confess i don't know the answer. it does, however, put to mind a related question:

on on-line dating sites i have used (like tagged or zoosk), why are the men pretending to be bi-women to hit on me so incredibly bad at it? do men never, ever listen to women say? do they think that if they have a picture of a model and the screen name "bambi" that we aren't going to suspect somethings amiss when they send an out-of-the-blue message saying, "i like your tits. send me a pic, then i'll send you one?" it's downright confounding to me.

i demand a higher quality of men-pretending-to-be-a-bi-women-to-get-me-to-show-them-my-tits, damn it! it's my right as an american.

And now we have JK Rowling pretending to be a man to sell more books! Whatever next?
