My stories have been criticized of being from a man's point of view, but I am, a man that is. What can I do to interest women in my stories?

I don't think there's anything wrong with a male point of view. As a man, my favourite stories are those in first person from the female perspective. I love getting a glimpse of the other side.

I think the key is to be genuine. Sure, we all want to plough a hot piece of ass, but what else is going on? How do the characters make you feel? Horny, of course, but what are those interactions doing to you: that coy little smile across the room; the way the back of your hand accidentally brushes her hip when you're walking with her; the way she tightly pushes her lips together when you ask about her husband? Offer an insight that female readers don't necessarily have. In my experience, women respond well when you're respectful and thoughtful, and honest.

You could read some of the more popular female authors' stories to see how they do it. Or you could go third person and balance it out a bit more.

Or you could just do your own thing. You've got some good feedback from the boys. You don't have to write for everybody.
My latest story is a racy little piece about what happens when someone cute from work invites you over to watch Netflix and Chill.

Make the women in your stories more realistic rather than just cardboard fantasy characters you move around. Give them some depth, motivation, attitude; have them do interesting quirky, unexpected things; most of all, demonstrate you KNOW how women really are, what they think, what they feel.

I'll have to read your stories to comment on this, honestly. Some people want an extreme amount of depth and psychological this and thats - others don't.

If you don't write in the 'inner workings of the female mind' that doesn't mean it's BAD and needs to be improved. It just means that some people who want that won't be finding it in your work - and they can shop for another story amid the thousands of others that are out there.

...

You've written two (I read them)
Lainy is 'hot . . . wearing a thong . . . nice tits' and the other women were 'hotties'

I'd say that trying to delve into their minds isn't even necessary. The issue might be that you're not discussing them at all, in any regard. Hair color, height, etc. It's one thing to be considered 'hot' - but what is 'hot'

Just a little bit more would round things out.

I write female first-person . . . and avoid describing the first-person character. I do describe the other character. Sometimes in a little detail, sometimes a lot - because how they look, how they act, how they talk (not necessarily how they think - because in life you don't know how someone else is thinking) are what drive the physical intrigue of the sexual encounter.

Thank you Matilda, I think that is very good advice.

Westman, you got some great advice. Don't let this supposed lack of female POV sensitivity become an obsession. After all, Hemingway never used a female POV and he did okay. However, your female characters will probably be more interesting if you remember that great truism: females ain't just men with tits and pussys.

FWIW, my contest winner here at Lush (see sig line) used a first person female POV and most folks said it came out more or less readable. ;)

What drunk told you your stories were readable Reverend? Btw, for a free drink, I'll tell you anything you want to hear, and then some...reminds me, I need to get over to the bar...been busy as of late with real life stuff...and I hate when real life gets in the way of important matters like drinking...

Anyway, getting back on topic...I'd have to say about 90% of my stories, both here on this fine site known throughout the free world as Lush Stories, and otherwise are first person, male POV...and that hasn't stopped me from getting a certain amount of recognition, here and elsewhere...so, maybe the issue is not the fact that they're male POV...just sayin'
