And a big thank you to the judges as well. I know my wife's eternally grateful that I won't be coming at her with an Ida in my hand and a twinkle in my eye.
My latest story is a racy little piece about what happens when someone cute from work invites you over to watch Netflix and Chill. A big congratulations to the winners! Well done to everyone who took part in the contest.

To those who say '___ should have won' it is no easy task to judge the top stories. They have to be looked at with cold eyes, and heads for content and theme not just "wow that's hot."
I'm glad to see such tough competition, it makes winning a contest a real prize on its own, but I'm sure the winners are going to enjoy their lelos!

I'm truly honored to be among you guys as writers. We all did a bang-up job, and it's NO easy task to write a competition story, let me tell you!
I'm honored to be among the list of the top entrants as a runner up. I really honestly don't know what I'd have done with a couples' toy anyhow, being a single gal!
I'm sure the judging team didn't have an easy job of things.

Congratulations to the winners, the writers who made the shortlist and indeed everybody who entered. GREAT result!!!!
(I think I'm allowed share this as one of the mods who helps with the competitions... It gets HARDER AND HARDER every time we do this! The standard of writing, imagination and sheer talent has really increased with every comp. When you're dealing with a shortlist as good as this one it almost comes down to a personal call. All the shortlisted stories were among the best examples of what we do here, all different of course, but each one deserving of regard. THIS comp was the hardest fought so far! Judges read, review and then vote on every story, but there was a LOT of 'discussion' regarding the final placing. I'm very pleased with the result, and if I say I'm the Meatloaf judge, ("Don't be sad...") some of you will know what I mean!!!)
One other point.
In the past, Lush Stories has been accused of favouring writers who mod for us in various capacities. That's untrue, but it hurts those of us who put ourselves out there to offer honest opinion on THE WORK. (It is the story, not who writes it...) From my point of view, I'm pleased that although several story mods were shortlisted, (they aren't mods for nothing) this time around the top three placings were awarded to non-mods, as far as I'm aware? Now that is how the vote went, but it goes to prove that we DON'T favour ANYBODY when it comes to the serious business of awarding plaudits at this level.
A final point.
The imagination and the interpretation of this competition's theme by EVERYBODY who submitted entries absolutely blew me away. We have some AMAZING writers here on Lush. One of the most awful things about being involved in the competitions is that you're very often being asked to comment and discuss writers who are DEMONSTRABLY better than you are yourself!!! (Grrrrr!)
I'm really pleased with the result and I think we got it right.
