I will be in Vegas for a few days and looking to find the best "entertainment" in town....

Since I'm not into gambling, it's the only vice that hold no attraction for me, my advice would be to catch some of the shows, especially the 'Follies, then leave town with some money left in your pocket. ;)

Agreed. Go see some shows. Or better yet, check out a couple of the night clubs.

I can’t think of a good tagline so this will have to do. Suggest a better one for me?

If hiking is your thing and you don't mind a couple narrow ledges, head out to Red Rock National Conservation Area just west of Vegas and take the Calico Tanks trail. Ends with a spectacular view of the city. Was one of our best days there (but gambling isn't our thing). As Rump suggested, hit some of the better shows. Someone mentioned liking Blue Man Group in another conversation I was part of.

To be honest, if I ever go to the Southwest again, I'm going to skip Vegas (been there, done that) and focus on things like the Grand Canyon and Monument Valley.

Gotta agree with the above - also not much of a gambler, but Red Rock Park was great, and Blue Man Group was very entertaining, if you can get tickets.

Also, I would suggest...EAT! A lot of great restaurants around town, Lawry's, McCormick and Schmick, Smith & Wollenskys, Ruth's Chris and Morton's, of course, many others. I had to attend conventions in Vegas for a number of years, and it got to where the food - and seeing old friends - was the best part...other than leaving!

If you're talking adult entertainment, all of the clubs and shows are very tightly controlled and almost seem tame as a result, at least from my limited exposure. For hookers? Oh, it's unavoidable! You'll get handed business cards on the street, stacks in the men's rooms, and pages and pages of "escort services" in the Vegas phone book. Never partook, but you cannot possibly miss it unless you're unconscious...and even then you might not!

For me, a great one-time experience that could have done quite nicely without the repetition. Anyhow, hope you thoroughly enjoy your trip!

You left out the vans driving up and down The Strip with small billboards on them advertising escort services. It is almost too much and too public there and I am someone who has been known to see escorts on occasion so not at all against the business (not there, though).

Do the extended tour of Hoover Dam if you can. It was fascinating.

Seconded. First and only time I have seen the guts of an operational hydro dam (though I have toured nuclear plants twice).

I'd have to agree with those who recommend the Hoover Dam, food and shows. My personal favorite is Beatles Love. Have a great time. I was there last evening for a few hours of gambling. For a Sunday it was very busy.

I think Vegas is wildly overrated. I agree with those who suggest Hoover Dam (it is amazing), and there is quite a bit of hiking around.

I like to bet on 4 or 5 baseball games, then sit back and drink free beer (tip well to keep them coming) and watch them all simultaneously. But that's just me, there are few baseball fans on Lush (hi, Amy).

Catch a show, the Hoover Dam, more than a couple of days there is a waste unless you are a gambler, and what happens in Vegas, really does stay there.

No Vegas trip is complete to me without doing these following things.

1. Stay somewhere decent. Going back to a shitty ass room after a fun night is lame.

2. If you're with someone who's never been, walk around the strip so they can get that out of their system. A big stupid drink makes this more enjoyable if you've already done it a million times.

3. Take pictures when you're drunk.

4. Go to nightclubs. Marquee is my personal favorite.

5. Eat at lotus of Siam. It's some of the best food I've ever had. Only thing off the strip I really do.

6. Eat at mon ami gambi, on the patio, facing the fountains of bellagio.

7. Strip clubs are fun, the rules in Vegas are very lax. Want to watch your girlfriend feel up and get felt up by a hot naked woman? Go to a strip club. I like the sapphire club. Bring plenty of cash, them hoes are hungry.

8. IF you can get out of bed before 2 pm, IF you're staying at a decent place, the pool is a great way to spend the morning. A massage or facial is also a nice morning activity.

9. Gamble. So weird to go to Vegas and not gamble at least once. If you don't have enough money to gamble, then you probably don't have enough money to go to Vegas in the first place. If the games are intimidating. Roulette is an easy, slow paced game, good for beginners.

10. Buy yourself and your partner something nice. New shoes, an outfit, some jewelry. Buy yourself at least one nice non souvenir item.

11. Watch a cirque du soleil show. O, zumanity, and mystere are my favorite ones.

I just realized what you were asking omg... Ask the concierge. A male one. They'll break it down for you. You've probably already come and gone. Hope you aren't on a med regimen as I type this.
